Well, we poor prospect writers who can’t afford tickets to the big team’s games will be here…
I gotta tell ya, there are a lot of the kids in the Hawk lineup that I really like. Kane, Toews, Barker, Bolland, Skille… I’d take any of those young’uns in the Blues’ system.

The goal is under review…
Come on, McGeough… make the right call, you schmuck…
Tick, tock… Tick, tock…
About time, jackass.
Woo hoo… Number 57, David Perron… assisted by number 39, Doug Weight, and by number 26, Martin Rucinsky.
Kerber just noted that Rucinsky has assisted on the first NHL goals for both Steve Wagner and David Perron. The assist on Wagner’s goal was Rucinsky’s 600th career point in the NHL.
Rucinsky has to stick around long enough to assist on Erik Johnson’s first NHL goal, too, I guess…

Merde!
Apparently Backes has hurt his left knee, and won’t return to the game tonight.
Hope it’s nothing that’s going to keep him out of the lineup long-term…

Oh, yes, Brent Seabrook… there’s another of the Hawks’ kids that I really like.
8-6 shots after one period, favor of the Blues.

Sorry PD, but EJ akready has his 1st. Scored against the Kings. I don’t remember who assisted though…
Good crowd tonight – lots of Hawk fans getting theirs from the fans.

I believe it was Weight on a sweet pass from behind the net who assisted on Johnson’s goal. By the way, will Johnson be playing tomorrow? Also, what do you guys think the odds of little Davey P. sticking with the big boys for the rest of this season?

Boss: As Ed McMahon would say, “you are correct, sir.” I forgot about that.
Manbones: I don’t see Perron going back to junior. He will be with the Blues all year, and now that he has his first goal under his belt, I’d expect to see him open up the offense a bit in his next few games.

Oh, and if Johnson already has his first goal, there’s no reason for Rucinsky to hang around any more, is there? ;-)

Seriously, how many posts are the Blues going to hit tonight?

Still in the swamps of northern Florida, but was getting KMOX pretty well in the car coming back from dinner. Missed Kariya’s goal so I was kind of mad until I heard the score as the streaming kicked in online.

Sounds like Boyes’ hard work got them the power play. It would be HUGE to get a win tonight. Gotta have a good record in the division.

Holy. Shit. Can’t believe they’ve given up TWO shorties.

OK, that second short-handed goal really hurt. . .

Jesus H. Christ…
That is all.

What a way to end that game.
For the rivalry to be back, the Blues need to play better than that.

Well, that was a shitty loss. Hopefully they’ll pick a win up tomorrow to make up for it.

What timing for tomorrow’s game. The game of the decade in the NFL is at 3 p.m. and the Blues play at 4. Gee, thanks.

Saw a fight in the hallway tonight… unfortunately it appeared to be two Blues fans.
Son of GT asked what they were fighting about. How do you explain that drunk people are like 80% dumber than they are in normal life?

Brad, the Blues play at 4 Central Time tomorrow.

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me the same inconsistency that plagued us in the two post-strike seasons is still creeping in to most games. And it makes you want to bang you head against the wall. We still have some moments of pure shine, like Perron’s goal tonight. And what took them so long to review the play? Did they send out for Pizza? Or was it a Meet and Greet for the Zebras? I don’t get it. It seemed like the game was delayed over five minutes. Hey! Hello! The puck was in the net, McGeough. If the goalie knocked it in, it’s his loss. Besides, it clearly was the result of Perron’s effort. In any case, that was the star moment of the game. We had a brief resurgence from Kariya in the 3rd Period, but Legace was having an off night, because that last goal should have been stopped. He had a clear line of sight.
Altogether, another disappointment. Especially given that it’s a team we love to hate. Thank God, at least where I was sitting, there was not a sea of Blackhawks jerseys the way there were sometimes in the past. That’s just salt on the wound. Although there were enough Chicagidiots there to disrupt Charles Glaad with a “Let’s Go Blackhawks.” Maybe it’s me, but somehow the national anthem deserves more respect than to have people yelling out “Let’s go” for anyone, even Blues fans. Have some respect. People are dying out there, and have died, and some of their families attend games.

Forgot to mention that at least the mascot came out with the only sensible name on an incredibly boneheaded list of choices put out by the Blues. Louie was the only obvious choice. Any of us could have written in with better ideas than the team management allowed us.

Dear Andy Murray -
God damn, the power play is awful.
Please put Erik Johnson back in the lineup. Choose any of the defensemen not named McKee or Wagner to sit in the press box to make room for him.
Thanks,
The Fans

I want to say that I love Barrett Jackman, but he single handedly lost that game for the Blues. Look at the highlights, he was terrible and his poor passing and bad positioning on the power play directly lead to both Chicago shorthanded goals. He was very very bad. He never should have been on the power play, Eric Johnson should have been.

Jackman had his second rough night of the week. He needs to promptly remove head from rectum and start playing smart physical hockey again. He was Chicago’s best player. EJ is in the lineup tonight and Wagner is a scratch. Backman also was a warm cup of shit last night.
Hopefully EJ gives us a different look on the PP today. God knows we need something besides the cross ice pass because that is definitely not working right now.
2 SHGs is not acceptable. Brutal.
