Blues at Wings Open Thread
By Sean Gallagher
Sweet baby Jesus do I hate these guys. I can barely bring myself to watch them, but there are a couple extra beers laying around so maybe...
One disappointing point in Dallas, can the Blues do better in Hockeytown Murder City tonight?
The floor is yours...

RJ between Kariya and Boyes again. Wonderful. Any idea how bad McDonald’s upper body is?

10:10- Emmanuel makes a decent save on the PK. Neil Smith proceeds to talk about Jamal “Myers.”

I feel like I’m talking to myself. How many times has Tkachuk been on the doorstep lately- including the San Jose game at home- on the power play and he still hasn’t scored?

It’s official. If I were to get a new jersey, it’d have Walker 28 on it.
What’s not to like about that guy?
Plus, I’m strangely obsessed with the fact that he’s never scored an NHL goal.

If Walker was a forward, he’d fit in great on a line with “Myers” and RJ.

Aaron Downey lost his stick on the ice. That’s only surprising because normally he loses it on the bench.

Good to see Dutchie has a 2 game post-hitting streak going.

Have I mentioned lately how disappointed I am with David Backes this year?

Nice to see the best defenseman on the team scored.

Mike Johnson, King, Hinote. I’ll give a line of Jeffio, the Red Berenson Cowboy, and Cher a better chance of scoring on the Dominator, or even Patrick Lalime than those three together.

Yeah…I’m thinking I might be acquiring an EJ sweater too. “My Johnson is so big that Stempniak is going to give him # 12 to make it more accurate.”

I love penalties while the puck is in the other team’s zone. Quite Rucinskesque.

How about Andy Murray’s New Year’s Resolution is to not have Jamal Mayers on the powerplay when there’s more than 10 seconds left in it?

Myers. No wonder Garth Snow is the GM of the Islanders.

Maybe Neil Smith only knows the names of players that score.

BB’s on a cold streak. A few weeks ago he buries the rebound after Walt’s shot.

Johan Franzen, I know Tomas Holmstrom. I’ve seen Tomas Holmstrom. You, sir, are no Tomas Holmstrom.

Yeah, how bad of a GM are you if you’re fired during the same offseason you’re hired and then you’re replaced by a guy who immediately gives out a 15-year contract?
Answer: you’re a very, very bad GM.

Myers just blasted Lidstrom to spring Dutch man for the goal… and I think I’m happier about seeing Lidstrom go flying.

Okay, the fun part is over, now I have to do New Year’s bullshit.

About Matt Walker, I live in Portland OR. (grew up in STL) and I got to see the 1998 Portland Winterhawks who went on to win the Memorial cup. Walker was on that team along with: Marian Hossa, Brenden Morrow, Andrew Ference, Josh Green …. what a fun team that was.
