I’d rather he went to a line with Stempniak and Mayers, but if he’s just going to sit in the press box he may as well play somewhere.

I agree with the above statement.
Pressbox or WJC? WJC.
Playing NHL-games or WJC? NHL.

Sometimes my posts are so good they deserve to be run again the very next day.

If he’s actually going to play for us I guess we should keep him here. Otherwise he should go play for country cause playing for your country is one of the highest honors a person can be given.

If he goes, he can come back. I don’t know how much he’s learning in practice, but to play in game action against the best can only help. It helped Erik Johnson, and also gave the Blues a good read on where he was developmentally.

according to john davidson in an article on tsn.ca, the blues frame for perron this season is to have him play 55 nhl games. so that being said, i would hypothetically think that he would be more of a leader on the young canadian team. that should help understand even more about responsibility on a team when they throw more of the load on him. also the track record for canadian teams is pretty good so it should also help instill in him even more so the ways and hows of winning.
so i say send him. he’ll have plenty of time to play in 44 more nhl games. and in the meantime if there’s a need for a replacement then give a kid in the minors a cup of coffee and a taste to wet his appetite for the nhl even more more.
of course the blues could make a play for andy macdonald at this moment as anaheim is looking to clear cap space for their tagging money in the offseason as scott is ready to play again maybe a there’s some trade possiblity of discarding brewer and a prospect and maybe a second round pick for schneider and macdonald. as schnedier looks to be paid 5.76million next year and macdonald’s just over two million. in the off season you can either unload macdonald for a pick or package him for a higher pick or have him as security in case a kid isn’t ready to cede weight’s place next year. and frankly, weight should no longer be playing center and we obviously need another offensive player. could you imagine a line of macdonald kariya and boyes? talk about speed and creativity. or send a big guy up but in any event you could drop jay mclement to the fourth line and drop ryan ‘i can’t score to save my life but i block shots and am a lifetime -80" johnson. or trade ryan johnson in the trade as burke is looking for shut down type player(though he’s smart enough to know ryan johnson only provides that in the chimera of working hard. anyone agree or disagree? i’m gain to converse in a friendly argument.

i started getting the feeling the blues rushed perron to 9 games just to take the issue off the table. if so, they failed. I’d be for sending him as well. if they think juniors is week, this is NOT week and many blues prospects have partaken in this event in the past.
if perron plays as much as hannu does when legace is healthy, i say send him, if they actually have a real plan in place to play hiom more, keep him.

I’m convinced that you always get a better player back than you send to these international events.
