sorry about the quality, but all that was available was a camera phone.
It looks like that gray patch is going to be that visible on the front (lower left).

Looks good. I also don’t know what the big deal has been about the new jerseys. No big deal to me. Then again, I really don’t focus on what dudes are wearing.

1. I don’t like the yellow verticl stripes on the sweater or pants.
2. I don’t like the weird stripes on the sleeves.
3. I think it’s weird a Blues sweater doesn’t have stripes at the bottom.
Otherwise…..eh. Could be worse.

tops with stripes that match up with pants with stripes never match up in game play. just wish people would realize that…
i mena they realized that vertical stripes on uniform socks really really bites a half century ago…

Reebok wants to take over making the jerseys…fine.
Reebok wants to change everything about the jersey to suit their style….not fine.
I, for one, won’t be buying one of these.

That’s the Blues new home unis? Looks decent.
Again Reebok wanted extra to add the bottom strips, Blues management said no, just like Leaf management in Toronto… cash before comfort!
I look at the bright side: Let’s give this some time and everyone will get used to the new styles. Look at Buffalo last year!
Oh, in case you didn’t know; Habs jerseys here in MTL kind of look like vintage late 50s-60s shirts with a predominantly white collar. Reminds me of 68.
Could it happen? Blues-Habs in the 40th anniversary final? Would love to see this happen, but many will tell me I’ve really been smoking very good stuff…

I saw a guy trying one on today and while not a fat guy, had a hard time making the XL look like it wasn’t too small. He ended up not buying one, despite the clerk telling him that the new stripes would help it lay right.

I can see the slogan for the Reebok jersey now:
“built for speed, not comfort”

I’m a fan of the new sweaters – I think that they look very NFL-oriented with the split shirt-tail, fitted form, and vertical striping. I think that the home blues are notably better than the road whites; they look like they should be tucked in (Doug Weight-style).
In the 11:00 scrimmage today the team only had 5 of each color for players to wear, and they chose: (while only 2/3 of the player pool was involved, guys like Hinote, Ryan Johnson, Erik Johnson,
Boyes
Cajanek
Kariya (the elder)
Mayers
Rucinsky
Tkachuk
Weight
-and-
Backman
Brewer
Salvador
Walker
Everyone else in the scrimmage wore the standard white or blue practice shirt, and the goalies wore black. You’ve got to wonder about the state of a professional sports league/franchise when you fail to outfit your entire team in the uniform that was expected to be the major highlight of the start of the pre-season.
As I sat with a few friends watching the scrimmage, we were fairly vocal about our complaints about Bettman running a “garage league” and the Blues running the worst marketing campaign in human history, which drew several stern looks from Peter McLoughlin, who was sitting approximately three feet away.

Overall, I think the new jerseys could be a lot worse. I’m not a fan of the shirttail hem or the vertical yellow stripes, but the fact they didn’t mess with much else makes me happy. Then again, the first jersey I owned as a kid had the red stripes and red outline around the bluenote, so anything will look good by comparison. Still, I’ll be sticking with my circa 2002 home blue jersey for the forseeable future.

My feeling after the game Sunday night was it looks good on the ice – not a fan of the “tombstone” piping effect and I truly miss the bottom stripes but we could be the Stars or Nucks that added their city name to their new sweaters because apparently their fans aren’t aware of where the play. Thank god we learned from those 80’s – early 90’s style that we don’t need our name our city because we are true hockey fans!
Of course, I could have thought that they looked good because I was watching our other 2 teams lose on TV will imbibing a bit and then tried the new Plum Pearl Vodka during the 2nd period – so I could be completely shocked at the next game and hate them……… :D
