All-Star Game here we .. wait forget it
Like a priest with a boner, I love Boyes. That's why when the NHL sent me an email reminder to cast some All-Star votes, I just had to get in on the action.
I filled out 10 All-Star ballots today. Brad Boyes was on all of them. I also Went for Iceberg, writing-in the rookie on every ballot.
I just can't vote for Tkachuk. Even though he played great earlier in the season. I just don't think he deserves it.
So, after I got done casting the ballots I looked at the leader board among Western Conference forwards.
Where's Boyes? Well, he has 79,877 votes as of 9:30 p.m. today. If he gets 100,000 more he could make the team based on fan votes. What's depressing though is that Devin Setoguchi of the San Jose Sharks has 57,572. The guy isn't even on the ballot. That many people wrote him in. Devin fucking Setoguchi. Maybe it's the Japan vote. I have no idea. He has put up good point totals, but not so much more than Boyes that he should be this close to Bradley in the fan balloting when he isn't even on the ballot. Equally surprising is that Paul Kariya, out due to injury lo these many games, has 44,926 votes. And Walt has a mere 28,119 votes. So while many people agree with me that he doesn't deserve to go to the All-Star game, I still don't get how Kariya is outpacing him in votes. Anyway, as I've said before, I can't wait for the Young Stars game.

I also voted incessantly for Boyes and Tkackuk (not because I like him, but because I was entertaining the pipe dream of actually having a Blues player in the ASG), but it’s really no use…good players on bad teams never get the recognition they deserve. Boyes is a world-class player; so are St. Louis and Vinny in Tampa, but they also aren’t even close in the east.
I vote for players that actually DESERVE it
all star voting is fucking ridiculous. it annoys me when mofos vote for players who were injured in preseason or offseason that are out for almost a whole year (Gonchar for example is in the top 6 in defenseman votes), and players who are usually good, but aren’t this season or in recent years (Kariya).
they vote for players just for who they are, not for players that are having a breakout season and really deserve it.
another thing is Boston’s goalie Tim Thomas… he was on the ballot the last two years, and this year when his numbers are getting better for the Nth consecutive year and his team is actually in first place, he’s not on the ballot.
seriously, what shit-for-brains nominates players for the all-star game a month into the season and fucks up so badly at it?
All-Star Games, in any sport...
…are pure, unadulterated, 99-44/100% horseshit.
The NHL All-Star Game is nothing but a merchandising opportunity; it exists solely so that some Madison Avenue douchebag can gin up some horrendous-looking “All-Star Jersey” that thousands of sheep will pay $200 a pop for.
Esta no bueno, seƱor…

Last year my friends and I voted for Legace for about 2-3 hours straight (i’m not sure how many times we each voted for him) I’m pretty sure we were about 99% of the votes for him, the other 1% were his parents and other family and some other weirdos like myself . I was so happy when he got in, then my friends and I threw a small party.
and thats proof that I have no life….. yeah…
