Flames At Blues Open Thread

Hello Mr. and Ms. Sloppy Seconds.

By Brad Lee

The Calgary Sloppy Seconds are in town tonight. Puck drops early at 7 p.m. CST. No live blog, man. Gotta save the words for the paper tomorrow night.

Chris Mason is rumored to be in goal tonight, his fifth start in seven games. No, no, he's not the starter. Uh huh.

Enjoy the open thread. Remember the Blues are in action Saturday and Monday too. So pace yourself.

If you'd like the paper tonight and want to get hooked, I'll offer it to you tonight during the game. Drop me a line at gtbradlee@gmail.com. Remember, subscriptions pro-rated for the rest of the season are still available. Think of the issue tonight as a Friday night special.

See you in the comments.

Teeeeeeeeeeej!

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 6:30 PM CST reply actions

where’s the rest of this sex tape???

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 6:34 PM CST reply actions

what’s this two scoring lines tonight with some sprinkling on the third line whoa. And how is it Janssen remains in the NHL and Regier gets sent down???

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 6:35 PM CST reply actions

As physical as the Flames are, I’d look to see a fight out of Janssen tonight

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 6:41 PM CST reply actions

Unfortunately the poll question didn’t have MY favorite Mike Keenan look . . . the one where he’s laying dead in a pool of his own blood. In a sewer aqueduct.

But . . . c’est la vie, I guess.

Oh, and yes . . . . TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEJ!

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 6:46 PM CST reply actions

no one knows ahead of time who’s starting for Calgary. Kipper kills St.Louis (10-0-1, 1.97 GAA versus the Blues), however McEllhinney is about due for a start

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 7:00 PM CST reply actions

Please pardon my behavior, but I’m going to flash the finger every time I see Coach K-nine on TV.

by Hall Plante on Dec 5, 2008 7:06 PM CST reply actions

HP . . . I’ll one-up ya. I’ll give him the ol’ “Up Yours”.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:06 PM CST reply actions

Hall just be loud and proud and say it…FUCK you Mike Keenan!!!

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:07 PM CST reply actions

Alright. So our armed forces get to see this overseas, too.

Think about it. Is it a reward or a punishment to get to see the Blues overseas?

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:09 PM CST reply actions

How gay two stupid fuckers fighting for what reason? What are they regulating? Fucking worthless non-NHL caliber players

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:11 PM CST reply actions

King I got to see five minutes of Blues hockey in sixteen months in Iraq I always wanted to see them even at their shittiest

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:12 PM CST reply actions

That was one helluva long fight.

Sounds like they had a few previous bouts

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 7:12 PM CST reply actions

and that’s if you have time to see it or a tv to watch it on or want to give up sleep or speaking with your family or just hanging out with the guys.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:13 PM CST reply actions

Gotcha Chris. So it’s a reward. I’m cool with that.

Was Prust trying to take out Janssen’s Adam’s Apple?

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:13 PM CST reply actions

they might be cathing in Iraq right now at breakfast in the chow hall.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:13 PM CST reply actions

20 years for Keenan in the league.

  1. Question: Why?

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 7:15 PM CST reply actions

i think Steen has shot the puck wide more times than he has a shot on goal…4 gp and one shot on goal.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:17 PM CST reply actions

Keenan has done something our team never has…Won a Cup and his record is above .500 both speak of accomplishments. He had issues when he came to us with his ego. I think he has actually worked those out now.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:18 PM CST reply actions

Keenan can still eat a big plate of horse cock.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:22 PM CST reply actions

Yeah. That call was more than obvious.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:25 PM CST reply actions

i’m more worried about having players like Brewer and Janssen on our team than what Keenan does. he’s fucked anyway. his team is fairly shitty.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:25 PM CST reply actions

Janssen vs. Prust from the juniors!! started out the same way as tonight. but ended way different

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions

that’s the stupidest explanantion for a fight. Guess what Jackman?….I can think of three million or so reasons why you should be sparked up to play every game!!!!!!!!!!

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions

the power plays look so much better without Brewer out there.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:29 PM CST reply actions

we got away with one there

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:30 PM CST reply actions

BACKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YEAH!

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:31 PM CST reply actions

sweet…start earning that money

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:31 PM CST reply actions

a rare point for a defensemen

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:32 PM CST reply actions

WTF? I tune in at 7:30 like my new desktop-schedule says, and the first period is already more than halfway thru ????

Shit.

Well, at least I got to see Backes score. Evenin’ all !!!

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:32 PM CST reply actions

woohoo! another PP

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:33 PM CST reply actions

More hot, steamy power play action. I’m so enthused.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:33 PM CST reply actions

Evenin’, Tim.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:34 PM CST reply actions

hey tim i thought the same think according to the Blues sight…just happened to tune into what i thought was the pregame lol

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:35 PM CST reply actions

Phaneuf gets two for “Fucking Around”.

Nevermind, it was tripping.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:35 PM CST reply actions

Good to see Backes put one in.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 7:36 PM CST reply actions

i thought Dion took a penalty b/c of his newly aquired anger issues, after he tripped over a Blues player and was pissed about it

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:36 PM CST reply actions

So why did David Perron have to earn his time on the ice last season but Coca-Cola gets 1st unit PP time when he’s been here a minute?

by Joe on Dec 5, 2008 7:36 PM CST reply actions

that and all the shit he’s no doubt been hearing about his girlfriend…wonder if Oshie asked him if she would date him or did he also need to be a Canadian

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:37 PM CST reply actions

i tell ya … that Perron kid has some good moves

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

TECHNOVIKING!!!!! DO THAT SHIT!!!!!

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

That is one sweet Swede.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

IceBerg !!!!! PPG!!!

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

that pass was sweet as Cotton candy …

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:38 PM CST reply actions

Berglund has about thirty nicknames.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:39 PM CST reply actions

i saw this last week against edmonton no?

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:39 PM CST reply actions

joe did that answer your question or was it the choice of him or brewer?

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:40 PM CST reply actions

STFU Chris … don’t harsh my buzz …

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:40 PM CST reply actions

Jackman should’ve gone after Bertuzzi’s head.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:40 PM CST reply actions

Umm yes. I mean, I like Cola. But you’re right. He sure as hell beat Brewer out the.

by Joe on Dec 5, 2008 7:41 PM CST reply actions

Wow, I sound like a moron with that comment. “He sure as hell beats Brewer out there.”

by Joe on Dec 5, 2008 7:42 PM CST reply actions

Good plays in the last couple of minutes on a shot block/transition play by Steen and Tkachuk stickhandling near the blueline keeping Celene Dion Phaneuf at bay. No points to show for it, but certainly a good sign

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 7:43 PM CST reply actions

lotsa hits out there … sounds good so far

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:43 PM CST reply actions

Dominant first period. Blues are playing with a lot of energy. I don’t care if they lose as long as they play hard … OK i care if they lose, but its easier to take as long as I see some E.

by Joe on Dec 5, 2008 7:44 PM CST reply actions

lol @ Tim…make me ;-P

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:44 PM CST reply actions

Not a bad first period. And a two-goal lead to boot.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:45 PM CST reply actions

SOG: Calgary: 2, St. Louis: 9
Faceoffs Won: Calgary: 7, St. Louis: 12

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 7:46 PM CST reply actions

hell that was of their best periods of the year

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:46 PM CST reply actions

the more Perron plays the more I love him the more I contemplate maybe Murray was correct last season or the rest of us who thought otherwise

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:47 PM CST reply actions

that Boyes dish to the Berglund one-timer… fucking sweet play

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 7:48 PM CST reply actions

the Rookie Condo !!!!

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:48 PM CST reply actions

Yep, can’t get much better than FSM Cribz with Teej and TechnoViking.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:49 PM CST reply actions

Amazing… they are totally lame.

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 7:50 PM CST reply actions

it feels like college without the school work? so for them, exactly like college

by Childhood Trauma on Dec 5, 2008 7:50 PM CST reply actions

Brewer just punched himself in the face.

Wow. If that isn’t symbolic . . .

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:51 PM CST reply actions

those fights are classic

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:51 PM CST reply actions

well, the Green Goblin would be pissed if they showed the keggers and the hourly walk-of-shames from St Louis’ hottest babes …. This was the TV-safe version

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 7:53 PM CST reply actions

King I was thinking the same thing. Too bad it wasn’t Manny fucking him up. I loved how Manny called him out after last Saturday’s game.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:54 PM CST reply actions

when they did Murray’s home was anybody else puzzled by Murray talking about coaching for Canada and loving your country when his home was in Minnesota???

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 7:57 PM CST reply actions

Any fight involving a goaltender would be just fucking awesome. Too bad they don’t do it too often.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:57 PM CST reply actions

sure was Chris. I had that exact thought

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 7:58 PM CST reply actions

I believe you’re right Chris, but . . . I’m pretty sure he coached Canada in the last international tournament.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:58 PM CST reply actions

He probably has dual citizenship.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 7:59 PM CST reply actions

if I got a job that paid me a more valuable money and lots of it and my own country really didn’t I’d kind of think of changing my alliegiance. not that it can be bought for a few dollars…well hell yeah I’d sell my alliegiance for some millions of dollars…as long as it wasn’t selling military secrets or something like that

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:01 PM CST reply actions

king it was two summers ago i believe

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:02 PM CST reply actions

is it just me or was that intermission like 5 minutes?

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 8:02 PM CST reply actions

Free Tomas Kana!

by Travis on Dec 5, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions

HA! you don’t GET the garbage! Masonry!!

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions

I think 5 minutes was all we got of an intermission aside from FSM Cribz.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions

whew, awful shot there

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions

where’s Polak on the PK? I hate to see Brewer on the right side in his own zone.

by The Goalie Guy on Dec 5, 2008 8:03 PM CST reply actions

dual citizenship is about the stupidest fucking thing in the world. i say by the time you’re twenty-five you should pretty much have it figured out. if you grew up in the US say and also were say a dual citizen of Isreal. I mean what happens if there’s tough decision or something? Oh well as long as Murray is paying his taxes I suppose.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:04 PM CST reply actions

Im confused, was Mason starter the whole game?

by Christine on Dec 5, 2008 8:04 PM CST reply actions

good start to the second … mason is still going strong.

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:05 PM CST reply actions

I hope Mason becomes the elite starter we have been lacking for years. No offense Manny you’re awesome and all but really the greatest backup ever.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:05 PM CST reply actions

yes Christine

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:05 PM CST reply actions

yep Christine, Mason had the start

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:06 PM CST reply actions

Yes Christine. He started. He just hasn’t been seen much because the Blues pretty much dominated the first period.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:06 PM CST reply actions

good job by Perron to be standing on the doorstep ….

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:07 PM CST reply actions

Perron just facewashed Kippy with his ass.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:07 PM CST reply actions

Janssen to Prust: DO NOT GRAB MY ADAM’S APPLE, FUCKFACE!!!!!

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:07 PM CST reply actions

that didn’t look offside to me …. ???

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:08 PM CST reply actions

i don’t think that’s called a "face"wash , pagan …

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:09 PM CST reply actions

I hear Boston is looking for a veteran defenseman…Brewer is a veteran.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:09 PM CST reply actions

By the way, did I hear Adrian Aucoin’s name earlier? I figured he retired after he failed somewhat epically in Chicago.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:09 PM CST reply actions

no, I won’t go there … pretend I didn’t say that. Carry on .. nothing to see here …

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:09 PM CST reply actions

AA has been down, but was called up just lately …

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:10 PM CST reply actions

Taco Bell run was a little long in between periods. What’ve I missed in the second so far?

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:10 PM CST reply actions

FUCK DETROIT

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

by The Goalie Guy on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

fuckbeans.

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

Wow. Now THAT’S your classic penthouse-to-outhouse story for AA.

And . . . . fuckgoggles.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

fuck, did our guys stop skating once the arm was raised

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

that’s it Stastney has just lost his job to Regier. Two badly timed penalties two games in a row. see ya kid.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 8:11 PM CST reply actions

Damn, I show up and the Flames score.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:13 PM CST reply actions

Penalty had nothing to do with the goal.

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:14 PM CST reply actions

Manny looks like somebody pissed in his cornflakes

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

hey Christine, check the Thursday Comedy topic (link at the top)

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

The only reason SI ranked Pittsburgh’s third jersey first is because Crosby would have whined if they didn’t.

by Dan on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

agh bounce, that shouldve been in the net

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

Manny looks so sad. Like someone killed his puppy.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

Kipper made a nice play there, but one that could’ve lacerated his arm if he weren’t careful.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

was that Boyes missing another layup opportunity?

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

Poor College Student, I was just about to say something about that LOL

by Christine on Dec 5, 2008 8:15 PM CST reply actions

Was Detroit’s winter classic jersey in the ranking? That piece of crap needs to get axed.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:16 PM CST reply actions

Oshie looks slick.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:17 PM CST reply actions

BALLSY move by Teej.

The conversation at the bench between Murray and Teej will go alot like the conversation between Lou Brown and Willie Mays Hays in Major League.

“Nice catch! Don’t ever fucking do that again!”

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:18 PM CST reply actions

detroit has jerseys? I mistook them for pieces of shit.

by Christine on Dec 5, 2008 8:19 PM CST reply actions

Any times a good time for a Major League reference.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:21 PM CST reply actions

That was a sloppy second effort by Dion Phanuef

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:24 PM CST reply actions

That must’ve been painful.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:25 PM CST reply actions

Doesn’t Boyes have a backhand shot?

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:25 PM CST reply actions

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions

That was about thirty chances in 15 seconds.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions

FUCK! What a frenzy!

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions

by Dan on Dec 5, 2008 8:27 PM CST reply actions

Holy chit Batmang!

by Big G-Man on Dec 5, 2008 8:29 PM CST reply actions

I think its safe to say that the Flames on on their heels. As they say in poker, if you smell blood, you might as well get a taste, too ….

We need to really stick it to them Right Now. Do NOT let your foot up off of their throats.

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:29 PM CST reply actions

You are correct, Tim. It’s killshot time.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:30 PM CST reply actions

Boyes should stick to sniping and not passing. He’s a scorer, not a playmaker.

by Joe on Dec 5, 2008 8:30 PM CST reply actions

FUCK YES I LOVE BOYES

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:31 PM CST reply actions

Bullshit no call to the crosscheck on Teej

by Big G-Man on Dec 5, 2008 8:35 PM CST reply actions

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:37 PM CST reply actions

Can the Drinkscotch Center please refrain from playing Pink before faceoffs?

And why the fuck did I even recognize that song. I hate myself.

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:37 PM CST reply actions

Every damn party on campus blares that song. Feel your pain, Pdub. I feel your pain.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions

lmfao @ douchewhistle

I officially nominate that as the new word for the refs

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions

Show some self respect pdub. It’s not like you’re a Wings fan.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions

Solid if not spectacular second period. Still dominating this team, which is shocking.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions

And after careful review, I will give my endorsement to the new Fully Loaded Nacho item on the Taco Bell menu. $3.99 and no chip was topping-less.

Get yours today

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 8:39 PM CST reply actions

Wasn’t even listening when the Pink song came on.

And to think, earlier in the period they were playing Bulls On Parade by RATM. Talk about contrast.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 8:39 PM CST reply actions

Mmmmm … Now I want a volcano taco.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 8:40 PM CST reply actions

Show some self respect pdub. It’s not like you’re a Wings fan.

Or is he…?

by Tim on Dec 5, 2008 8:41 PM CST reply actions

Tim, you aren’t drinking your dinner while you watch the game? That’s what I do at least.

by Dan on Dec 5, 2008 8:42 PM CST reply actions

I already skipped to Step 5 in my daily progression: Lots and lots of booze.

By the way, today is the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Drink up, fellow fucknuts!!!!!

I did black out a good deal of the 3rd period the last Blues v Wings game I was at.. but nothing happened, I swear.

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 8:43 PM CST reply actions

Whew…after last Saturday I was fearing them coming out without energy. They are playing great tonight. Oshie should be the next Captain. Obviously he comes back into the line up and there’s a more palpable intensity from the BLues. Ok maybe it’s not all true but I;d like to think it is true. Listen Parris the jucking killer bees played on Houston. the fuck we want that nickname.

sweet i have boyes and cola and mason in my fantasy line up tonight! earlier in the year i dropped devin deteguchi b/c he wasn’t getting any power play time back then god damn it!! grrr…

Do-King, I think that should be a national holiday.

by Dan on Dec 5, 2008 8:44 PM CST reply actions

Oh that’s gotta suck. dude tied in the rapid fire contest and got told “we already determined that the other guy would win” Same old Keenan. No strategy, just outcompete the other team, no skill necessary. And if it doesn’t work, blame the goalie for not playing hard enough.

by The Goalie Guy on Dec 5, 2008 8:44 PM CST reply actions

Chris D. I may have asked this already, but what branch did you serve in?

by Dan on Dec 5, 2008 8:45 PM CST reply actions

The Lightning jersey looks like a fake for a movie.

one of my favorite Stevie D moments, was the ad for the sporting goods store. Steve Duschene and Marc Bergevin are the “cops” that bust a fan breaking into the store. The punchline is the two of them singing “bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do?” in their THICK French-Canadian accents.

HEEEEEEE-sterical ….

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 9:19 PM CST reply actions

your welcome nancy boy and sorry to hear that. and dan no we don’t see local commercials all the commercials are usually bought through the armed services network. most things are prerecorded. when i watched the cardinals in the world series with my buddy from detriot those games were on at like 3 in the morning in iraq. people would be working out in the gym we were at. that was only good thing about being sent down to baghdad, the gym was close. otherwise i caught the last game of for the Cup Edmonton Carolina waiting for a plane back to the states supposedly ending my tour and watching the World Cup games with the Hajis who had local broadcasts. and in baghadad we had one room b/c they didn’t have room for us so a bunch of guys had television and the satelite=armed forces BS and one guy always had the Irish games on.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 9:19 PM CST reply actions

I bet McClement takes damn near every faceoff the rest of the game, whether or not he jumps onto the bench afterwards

next season joe we should eller, palushaj and sonne ready for sure…also livingstone and mcrea will be close

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 9:30 PM CST reply actions

Perron is going to be awesome once he adds another 10 pounds of muscle and stops getting pushed around as much.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 9:31 PM CST reply actions

OK, I take it back, that was a good shot by Perron.

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 9:31 PM CST reply actions

joe maybe we trade Kariya to Atlanta for Kovalchuk as he obviously doesn’t want to be there and they get a guy guarenteed for at least another year.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 9:31 PM CST reply actions

fuckin shit. we usually own the 3rd. we dominated the first two and let it go in this third and now we gotta go to overtime when we should’n’t have to

heh heh heh … that settles another thing. if lemtyugov ever gets called up, his nickname is Motorhead….

Kariya for Kovalchuk would be great.

by pdub on Dec 5, 2008 9:32 PM CST reply actions

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 9:32 PM CST reply actions

Now THAT is hockey music.

by Donut King on Dec 5, 2008 9:33 PM CST reply actions

by Nancy's Boy on Dec 5, 2008 9:33 PM CST reply actions

@Chris D. I’d take Kovie in a second … however I doubt the Thrash would deal him for PK. Karyia isn’t getting younger and is not that cheap. It’s a nice dream, but doesn’t seem too realistic.

Uggghhhhh. I’m done with this one.

Remember, as stated earlier, it’s the 75th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition. Drink up! And now you have a good reason to do just that.

at least we got a point unlike last Saturday. i’m going with trade kariya because obviously too many injuries and this team is looking more and more like they’ll be getting a high draft pick. personally I’m really liking the American sniper on the USDT. That kid’s a pure goal scorer. Fuck Taveres, he’ll be great but he’s not the greatest skater.

by Chris D. on Dec 5, 2008 9:41 PM CST reply actions

Well, after that, I’m done. Ill be representin’ tomorrow in 333, hope we can do better against the ’yotes.

by Poor College Student on Dec 5, 2008 9:42 PM CST reply actions

The worst part, aisde from losing, is losing to guys named Dion and Rene.

And since next week is finals week…I’m off to find another way to procrastinate

Just wait a while. It’ll come to you.

by Pagan on Dec 5, 2008 9:44 PM CST reply actions

since we play Phoenix tomorrow, I have a poll. Yotes fans bag on Jovanovski as much as we do Brewer. what would you say to a swap?

by Dooks on Dec 5, 2008 9:46 PM CST reply actions

kinda like wife swap.. except hockey players =P

GRRRRR… Actually, I’m going to point a finger at Mason. The Blues actually had that first PK under control when the puck goes back to him and he looks at it while it sits in the crease forever. no communication, no movement, no reaction, even when the Flames started bearing down. All he had to do was to freeze the damn puck for a face off. It was, quite possibly, the dumbest thing I’ve seen a goaltender do short of scoring on himself.

Zero shots on goal in the third period five-on-five… that’s not going to win you many, either. It’s a little disturbing that teams that play us physical in our own building are able to come back. We haven’t backed down in the first period, but then it’s like, “Whew, we weathered the storm, now we can just play skate n’pass.”

The worst part is that Keenan left town with two points. He’s so overrated as a coach. See you tomorrow, 320 as usual.
