Blues Open Thread

By Brad Lee
Gotta admit, shoveling snow is tiring, especially after staying up until 2 a.m. working on the printed version of Game Time. Where did we leave that pot of coffee?
Blues at home tonight vs. Anaheim. If Andy McDonald scores a hat trick, everyone throw your Weight figurine on the ice. Also, if the Blues score five, remember to give your ticket stub to a homeless person. It's absolutely, positively the least you can do.
Jeremy Rutherford at the Post says Matt Walker was practicing at right wing Thursday and could see time there tonight on a line with D.J. King and Jay McClement. And when that line is out there, no one will pay attention to McClement.
Blues are back in action Saturday night. Guys who put out fan-run hockey papers for fun (this is fun?) HATE back to back games at homes. So we might not have a whole lot on the blog to chew on until Sunday. But feel free to break down tonight's game with comments on this thread.

I won’t be here blogging during tonight’s game. I’m planning on chilling at the Sports Zone tonight for the game. it’ll be interesting how a mass of people will react to playing against Dougie for the first time.

hmm top 11 things to do while waitign for the blues to score
11: honor old players
10: yell “SHOOOOOOOOOTTT” 572 times
09: figure out 11 reasons the refs hate the blues
08: read war and peace
07: write war and peace
06: personally ask everyone you know “why in the world would kariya pas the freaking puck to johnson on an odd man rush?!!?”
05: try to find a beverage that glenfiddich doesnt make better
04: wonder if when the anaheim players celebrate it is, definitionally, a duck dance
03: finally come to terms with there never, ever, ever, being a taco bell taco promotion again.
02: turn gray
01: find out how many licks it does take to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

nope. I’ll join you from section 320. Legace has been awesome.. 2-0 without him . refs are stupid. anybody else understand the offsetting diving call?

Nice way to come home after the break. Manny was back to his old point-stealing self. That save on the Ducks power play-WOW. Bertuzzi should really consider hanging them up. Pretty amazing that the Blues scored more on the shootout tonight than they had all season. Took my goddaughter to her first hockey game and now she wants a jersey. Looks like another convert. :)

That was probably the most exciting 0-0 game I’ve ever seen. Pretty good play all-around, but the Blues D gave up too many breaks. Thankfully Manny was really on his game.
EJ looked great, King’s line (with Walker on wing) had some good pressure at times, Backes was hitting hard, and there were even a couple of big open-ice hits. Sellout crowd too.
Hope they have something left for tonight’s game.

not me kiddos. i thought the blues pretty crappy in the first period. picked it up in the second and were up and down in the third.
oh did i mention tkachoke took a bad lazy penalty. it should have been diving but he should have not been lazy using his stick and crushed the guy with his big body.
that game was all about manny.
backes, mcdonald, kariya and boyes—oh okay jay mckee and after that they all pretty much sucked.
ryan johnson continues to skate more and more like he doesn’t know where he is going. he took a shot without lube and after that he played horribly.
mayers had a bad game as well.
brewer a bright spot. jackman so-so. salvador crap.
this time needs an injection. they are missing a few pieces and have way way too many checking forwards.
