Whenever I watch clips from old games I think “man, they’re really slow”. Maybe it’s the lack of ads on every surface — there’s not enough reference to see how fast they’re skating by. Or maybe they just look slower without helmets.
Guys away from the play seem to be really relaxed though (especially goalies) which may go along with the longer shifts observation.
So is it better not having scrolling text, stats, scores, etc. (except for the GIANT player names)? I can’t decide.

long shifts!! lol one of the top things i always say about why hoickey is different today, glad am noticed it.
hell you used to run 4 d-men (5 if one was a special team specialists) in the very early days of blues hockey, now you gotta have 8 d-men, 6 who can play at least 15 minutes a night.
if we made the players of today play 90 second shifts, i’m betting that would equal more scoring. as am said, players conserve away from the play, so when an openning hits, the offense usually recognizes it first and moves in to at least get a chance
other difference i noticed? i thought every 30 seconds there was a penalty :)
