This post is to let you know that I have a problem. I can't stop watching things and typing about them immediately. So tonight at 7 p.m. St. Louis time, we'll be live blogging the NHL Draft Lottery!

You can watch it too on TSN (if you're in Canada), the bullriding/fising network, the NHL Network and online at NHL.com. The league wants you to see who will get the right to draft Stamkos.

By the way…heading to Detroit tomorrow for a pointless two-day business trip. And yes, I’m taking requests for various Red Wing tendons to cut, “Fuck Detroit” signs on various high-traffic street corners, and information concerning which cars will best redirect gunfire if I need to dive down behind one. And what’s more offensive to a Detroitan — our home town Cardinals’ 2006 Championship, the Tigers’ 0-6 start, or just a statement concerning the Red Wings good-thing-we-won’t-win-the-cup-because-we-can’t-lift-the-cup sissy-factor? And, speaking of, if I accidently brush shoulders with somebody on the sidewalk, will he and all who saw it start calling for an illegal check?

The NHL doesn’t want the next concensus No. 1 to wind up in flyover country. Likewise, there isn’t a Pittsburgh to save this season. The top pick will go to LA or the Isles.

odds should be very good that the #30 gets the #1 pick, but it should be up in the air from there. I’m hoping definite #2 for the Blues

how long will they stall before they actually pull the numbers? it’s not like i really care. this is as good of a reason as any to avoid writing my economics paper.
