I didn’t know that women could drive now. Weird.

How did you get so close to “14th and Clark” to take the photograph without security wrestling you to the floor and breaking your face/camera???
I thought us little people would not be welcome anywhere near the place now that it is for the glass yuppies.

In case it’s difficult to tell from the photo, this was a pre-teenage girl who was carrying an old-school over-the-shoulder golf bag with a mix of hockey sticks and old clubs stuck in the top.
It’s tough to snap perfect cellphone camera shot of an 11 year old girl’s back when you’re trying to avoid an incident with her father seeing you.

A girl with a misspelling on her sign, and a guy scratching his ass in the same picture. Wonderful job, Fantasy Files.

Although the prospects (gold team) lost the scrimmage, they dominated the shootout. Hopefully a good sign for the offense.
(“Dominated” is a relative term here. It took like 120 shots from both sides before somebody finally scored a goal in the “practice-style” shootout.)
I loved the way that Oshie shadowed Perron during a couple of shifts. Never let him get free.
I hope Oshie has more than that one breakaway move.

I enjoy the shootout, but I’m not a big fan of the “canned” shootout, like they had yesterday.

The Belleville News-Democrat “note by note” blog has a slight update on EJ’s knee.

Went to the first exhibition game tonight in KC – the Sprint Center was buzzing with excitement over having the first hockey game in the new facility. According to Yahoo, almost 12,000 fans – nice feeling to see so many people in KC excited about hockey (and something other than KU basketball). I was impressed with how most of the fans got into the game – though, many of those folks were obviously STL transplants like myself. Of course, there were many indicators that KC isn’t exactly used to hockey – the ushers were all given large red stop signs to hold that said “Wait! Puck in Play!” and others wore “Sprint Center” hockey sweaters – I wasn’t aware that our new arena had a team…and saw one KC scouts sweater, which I’d never seen before.
Mason didn’t look too hot in the net – LA’s first goal easily whizzed past him like he wasn’t even watching. Oshie looked small out there (especially compared to Berglund), but played his heart out for an exhibition game. DJ King was showing off for KC, too – two fights: the first a scuffle that resulted in a roughing call and the second a major for fighting – the fans loved it. Looking forward to the season.

Oh yeah – forgot to mention that Horn Man and his entourage made the trip to KC for the game. Towel Boy was absent. We know who the true fan is…

I know this is a day late, but did anybody else that was at the Q & A find the question about the Choir from Farmington singing at the game find that slightly bizzare?
What about the guy that thanked JD for “turning the team around?” I guess he’s proud that three teams picked before the Blues did this year. Now that’s what I call progress.

They could sing amazing grace while the fans throw towel guy from the mezzanine level… just a thought. How about the winter classic crack by Kerber. "Ya, that would be amazing to see an actual professional sport played on a football field around here." Then the recovery "That wasn’t too far of a drive away." Nice.
