I've been banned ...

Star-divide

So over the last couple of years I'll stop by Viva El Birdos once every couple weeks or so to check out their stories but never joined up. After the move to SBN I decided to join up with them since I already had a profile for here. This is the message I got:

You are banned from Viva El Birdos. You can browse the blog, but you can't participate. No thanks, Aaron. Screen names like yours have no place at VEB. Grow up, get a real screen name, and act appropriately and we'll welcome you back.

Now I'm fine with that not being an appropriate sceen name for them, and I wasn't planning on doing any commenting there, nor did I post any comments (I go elsewhere for my Cards talk) but exactly what actions have I taken that were so offensive?

Bite me. Fuck Detroit

Yeah...

It’s a tough decision because in this community clearly Fuck Detroit is a battle cry so it’s obviously okay here but I know at my place a guy wanted to have his name be Fuck Tank Nation so I just starred out the ‘u’ as a compromise. Of course, I offered the opportunity to change it first without banning him.

Fuck Tank Nation.

Let it be heard that THAT . . . is an awesome name. Absolutely phenomenal, as Bill Walton would say.

Fuck those elitist bastards...

People that live and die by the Cardinals tend to be snooty, nose-in-the-air types anyway; hockey is a peasant sport to those people.

I’ll listen to drunk-ass Mike Shannon talk about the Cards on the radio broadcast, but that’s about it.

When I was looking at your profile the other day...

I was wondering how that was going to play out…I spend some time on VEB also, and I know what they are like,so I knew there would be some pushback…they are a little on the serious side over there, to say the least…this is definitely a more relaxed atmosphere here, though I haven’t had a chance to participate in the game threads yet.

You should join in sometime

It’s a lot of fun, and we even talk about the game sometimes.

Used to be Aaron, but some douchebag Celtics fan has that one already.

As a live-and-die Cards fan . . .

I’d have to call this a dick move by VEB. I enjoy their corner of cyberspace, but you can’t expect to run a family-oriented operation in the blogosphere. Just can’t.

Besides, you’d think a fan blog run for a baseball team that has played a Detroit team three times in the World Series would agree with the sentiment. But I digress.

"Fly ball to center . . . Flood’s under it . . . "

Uhhhhhh, no he wasn’t. I wasn’t even born yet when that happened, and I feel the pain.

Bump and Fuck Detroit.

Just thought I would add that to get GameTime back to #1 in the Fuck Detroit department.
So here it goes.
Fuck Detroit … Again ..
Just in case the point didn’t come across: Fuck Detroit ! !!

Just for the record I must point out, I am not referring to the SBN member who’s name happens to be “Fuck Detroit.”
In fact, this post is in support of “Fuck Detroit” member who thinks Fuck Detroit is an appropriate phrase.

This concludes my post on the subject of “Fuck Detroit.”

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
