Blues Game Dropped From Vs. Schedule

Anyone else notice how there's now no TV for the Feb. 3 game against the Columbus Blue Jackets?  That's because Vs. has dropped the contest from their schedule and replaced it with the Caps and Devils? I remember wondering why the hell Vs. would pick up a game between the Blues and the Jackets, let alone the next night after they just aired a Blues/Wings game, but they did and know they're pulling the rug out from under the two non-contenders.

The only confirmation I could find for this was an article on Yahoo sports' Puck Daddy column breaking down the number of games each team would be on.  The Blues had 5 and The Jackets 1, counting them up now its clear the blues are down to four and the jackets zilch.

So I'm torn.  On one hand we get to see Ovechkin and the playoff bound caps play the also playoff bound but boring ass Devils. However it also leaves us completely TV less on both sides of the puck, so not even an internet stream will be availible.  Should we be outraged or not?  Also, does Shanny signing with the Devils have anything to do with the boot we got from Vs? Maybe, maybe not, who knows.

Columbus only got one game? Damn. And I thought the Blues got treated bad!

The Blues have tradition.

Columbus has . . . some Buckeye leaf.

'Two non-contenders'

Hate to be Buzzkillington here, but the Jackets actually have a shot at getting in the playoffs. As of today, they are sitting at 49 points, only a few back from the Canucks who are now sitting at the number 8 spot with 51 points.

I understand why VS wants to show AO, and I can’t knock them for trying to promote the best in the sport. Sometimes a hot team trying to stay alive makes for better hockey than one super-star, IMHO (anyone see the highlights from PHX vs. DET? great hockey last night).

mason is playing through back spasms bad enough to miss his first experience at an all star game and leclaire is having ankle surgery sidelining him for 10-12 weeks. they’re done.

Respectfully disagree. I mean, the spots for 6th, 7th and 8th are all tied at 51 points. It’s a little bit early to count out a team only a few points back, even with injuries.

sigh So much for me being able to watch the Blues ON MY TV. Time to hunker around the ol’ computer yet again.

I love watching OV – he’s a blast. But sometimes the more random match-ups are more fun, like the Blues/Preds game. Amazing. Best 0-0 game I think I’ve ever seen. Sometimes it’s better to have a random fun game than a game that you think’ll be fun until you realize that Bobby Holik will be on your TV at some point that evening.
