Around SBN: NFL Owners Vote to Change Trade Deadline

Dear Carlo,

We were sorry to see that you injured yourself last night when you missed on a hip check and instead bounced your head off the boards in Carolina.

We're also sorry to hear that you're being 'evaluated' today for the injury. We're guessing that based on your history and the fact that we could actually see little birdies flying circles around your head as you tried to get off the ice, it'll be a while before we see you again.

But, just for future reference, here's how you're supposed to execute a hip check:

Get well soon, buddy.

That snickering sound you hear is coming from Toronto.

But I still like Colaiacovo. And all his broken parts.

Per JR at that one newspaper st. louis has.....

"The Blues called up Steve Wagner last night, but after arriving at Scottrade Center today, he was re-assigned back to Peoria.

Evidently, Carlo Colaiacovo is OK to play tonight. More later. "

"Brad Winchester playing on a line with Perron and Berglund is like the fat kid who you invite to play one day because you didn't have enough skaters, yet you don't have the heart to tell them to leave the next few times you play. Damn you Andy Murray." -Author Unknown

I love that proper hip check video, and I love how the linked article about Carlo says he was “hit by a hip check” but fails to clarify that it was his own.

P.S. Also love that Letwowski’s stick falls on his face after the hit. I mean, that’s some skill by McLaren: nailing the hit and the insulting landing? Nice.

As much as Bob Plager is around the team you would think every defenseman would know how to throw a proper hip-check, right?

Used to be Aaron, but some douchebag Celtics fan has that one already.

Nice to see the Sharks love

at least I’m assuming what it is since you used them as an example of what to do … :)

Ever get the feeling we are on a collision course with reality?
