Hockey news

  • Wings, Caps and Avs all were winners last night. [Yahoo! Sports]
  • Other action for Wednesday not involving the Blues. [Yahoo! Sports]
  • So I know we should be building up hate for the Hurricanes, but this story about Eric Staal is pretty cool. He donated a bunch of equipment for underprivileged kids. [Canes Country]
  • The Lightnings "naked shootout" has caught on ... and gotten some kids in trouble. [Raw Charge]
  • If Dmitri Kulikov gets to spend the whole season in Florida, Alex Pietrangelo should be a lock in St. Louis. [Litter Box Cats]
  • Former Blue Ryan Johnson went head-first into the baords and had to leave the ice on a stretcher. [ESPN]
  • How are teams coping with injuries to key players. I guess T.J. Oshie and his incredible disappearing appendix don't count. [ESPN]
  • As Carnie previously reported, piggie flu hits the NHL. [TSN]
  • How do you get two hernias in your groin? You know what, I don't want to know. [TSN]

Damn ESPN

They don’t even mention us, we have to be way up there already in man hours lost.
Suspended players for doing the ‘naked shootout’. Geez lady just take your daughter out of there. They weren’t totally naked. I swear some people…..

I’ll miss the beginning of the game and your company tonight. Won’t get home from work until 7 tonight. I hate the eastern time zone early starts.

On another note

I can assume that Stastny cleared waivers? I looked on the Blues site and it says he was recalled but nothing about waivers.
I wish they would put this guy on a line he can show what he can do. But, I expect he’ll be with Winchester and Janssen. Any thoughts?

That wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe they can move Walter up a line so he can, I don’t know, actually take a shot.

BTW, I have to disagree with you on the start time… I love the Eastern times – no staying up till 11. :)

Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?

Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.

I saw it this morning.

Not pretty at all. Thankfully he only has a concussion . . . could’ve been a lot worse.

Hockey can be a cruel sport when you lose an edge.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

I watched that game last night and that was nasty

Nucks almost won the shootout. Wings look terrible.

Some days its just not worth chewing through the restraints

As long as we're doing strange things like posting positive stories about today's opponent

Big ups to Brad May, who made a bee line to check on RJ to check on him after he hit the boards.

Always nice to see some sportsmanship.

I was shocked to see that…

Mary had a chicken, Tommy had a duck, lets put them on a table to see if they would ... fall off.
