I think I'm still wet from spending three hours in the rain covering high school football. I don't know if my feet will ever feel dry.

Gallagher passes along some standup from Bill Hicks. Apparently, this was cut from Letterman's show back in '93 and Dave just admitted earlier this year that he was the one who cut it. For some reason, he decided to air it many years later. Enjoy.

Hey, it's finally Friday!
Thanks for finally hitting “publish”.
Why couldn’t you have shortened a Monday instead of a Friday?
Let's go Blues!!!

I have nothing against Brewer
I just wonder why he’s captain sometimes. You’d think that it would Tkachuk or Kariya . I’m not saying he stinks just normally the captain is a leader on the ice as well as off and his play on the ice is never really as the person who’s dictating the way the play goes.

I'm a little surprised no one has asked THIS question...
If Brewer was (is) the Captain, why didn’t he still make the Sweden trip?
Seriously, would just ONE more player make THAT big of price difference?
I thought that was … um.. interesting that he didn’t go.

My favorite Brewer-spawned idea is the new measurement system.
Somehow his progress on his back surgery came to be measured in “can he lift his kid?”
First, he couldn’t lift his kid, then he was getting better and could even lift his kid. Then he had a set-back and could no longer lift his kid.
I just hope we can continue to use this measurement when people hurt their backs.

BTW Juan
You didn’t miss anything.. there were about a 100 poeple being herded through ropes for a table and not much interaction at all. Although, my daughter loved meeting the Mayor himself. He was nice…. to her.
I gave him and Yan man each a copy of GT. I didn’t have time to talk about GT, even though we’re not supposed to talk about GT.

Oh dear
Flippula is out. Boo fucking hoo.
I know it’s wrong to take pleasure in others injuries…but fuck em. A big part of me is now thinking “NOW you assholes know what it’s like.”

They won't know...
… until Lidstrom pops a kneeful of ligaments and is done for nine months. Without him, they’re the Maple Leafs.

Right now...
… they’re looking like the Islanders. It’s frightening that the Leafs are beneath them.
Wait – no. I give the edge to the Isles. At least they have 2 NHL goalies.

Bill Hicks was WAY ahead of his time.
Good for Letterman for looking back and making amends for a mistake.

Too bad Dennis Leary ripped of Bill's work off
