Jackman on IR with ankle sprain ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 10/09/2009
Blues defenseman Barret Jackman suffered a sprained ankle in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta and will be placed on injured reserve.

He will be sidelined a minimum of seven days.

Rookie defenseman Alex Pietrangelo will make his season debut in Saturday night's home game vs. Los Angeles.

The Blues also are expected to call up a defenseman from Peoria of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

I know he has his detractors but I’ve always liked the guy – especially that body shot he took keeping the puck out of the net in the Bruins game last season.

On the upside…it’ll give Pietrangelo a shot.

On another COOL upside…FUCK DETROIT have lost Franzen for at least 4 months with a torn ACL in his left knee. Boohoo. How sad…

Who will replace Pie

Pie is on the roster hes our defensive scratch and hes not just taking a spot from a regular. If we send him down to juniors who do we call up to replace him? Junland or Strachan come up to take his spot if we send him down. Right now Strachan is on the roster because hes covering for Jackman.
