College Hockey fans

Dont know if any of yall follow college hockey any, but we have a team here in Huntsville, Alabama that plays in Division They play in the CHA, however the CHA is disbanding after this season is over. So every other team (Bemidji State. Niagara, & Robert Morris) has found a conference to play in next year, except UAH (without a conference they would have to look at going Independent, DII, or club, NOBODY wants that).

UAH applied for admission to the CCHA (Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, etc) and the CCHA denied their admission about 2 months ago.

Fast forward to tonight, UAH is taking on #5 Notre Dame in South Bend, UAH ends up beating Notre Dame 3-2! Most definitely the BIGGEST WIN for the program here! Just thought I'd throw my hockey in Alabama flag around!

Very nice.

100% of the D-I college hockey I’ve ever attended was on the Notre Dame campus. But being a root-for-the-underdog kind of guy, I can’t complain about the Irish taking one on the chin.

Hopefully UAH will find a new conference home soon.

UAH is a great hockey success story.

Hope you boys can find an affiliation!

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

Seconded...

I think it’s a friggin’ joke that the CCHA allows Alaska-Fairbanks in the conference, but doesn’t want Alabama-Hunstsville.

Miami for the win.

Can’t wait to see them kill Michigan State next weekend.

Just so long as Ian Cole didn't get hurt or play terribly

then I’m all for beating Notre Dame!

I know it's time for hockey because I've started singing "Don't Stop Believing" with the words "...born and raised in FUCK DETRIOT!!!"

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
