Thank god I found this site last year so that I don't have to talk to these people...I like to punish myself from time to time by going to the stlblues.com message board as well as the stltoday.com Blues boards, and I found this as one of the top threads...

I guess it does serve the purpose of knowing what to expect from the fairweather douchebags that run rampant around Scottrade these days.

first no one knows what jd does, he aint the gm, we got 7 of them, and he dont run the draft but im sure he has imput, naming him the face of the blues potential or percieved organizational issues might be valid, jd is the face of the blues more than any other president ever has been. and as much as i disagreed with some things in the posting (ok most of the things— all of the things- well except jackman being overpaid and played) what set me off (and why i am responding to this) is the ej thing. it was a race between jd running the dish network or the ej stuff. the ej stuff won :) and you hit it FURST

Yeah, the EJ comments

are what caused my meltdown too, I was just too crazed to even get to that… it was painfully obvious how moronic these morons are when they were naming off all of the successful rookies we didn’t pick…as if, you know, we can just grab whoever we want and whatever we want without strategizing an ACTUAL PLAN.

I for one was ecstatic to see our boys break the playoff plane last year, and have been disappointed by this team this year, not for not winning, but for not winning in our house.

Granted, we were conditioned for these kind of results coming in to last year. All I’m saying is thay the billboards are telling me that “I’m the missing piece”…I guess I’m doing something wrong…

I don’t read the STLTODAY forums or the official blues forums. Just too many retards who wants to cry about every fucking thing. Im more invested in the development of our talent and didn’t take last years playoff run too seriously so maybe im just an oddball. Were not playing very well right now but neither were the leafs and they are turning it around. People should look at the overall picture and realize this is one small segment of a multi year project to return us to contendership, were gonna be up and were gonna be down you gotta fucking deal with it.

the problem i have with this is after checketts public comments i’m not sure the blues agree with you. that should be a concern. the blues a playoff team this year? ok i can get behind (and hopefully stand behind that for a long time to come). but better than chicago and/or detroit today? if the management and ownership believes that to be true, that we have elite talent TODAY and the on-ice product continues to flounder, any number of things could result and all of them are bad.

Yeah. I absolutely hate the people who are saying that Jackman needs to be dumped. As someone on another board said, people have a BAD habit of judging defenseman by their offensive output. We don’t have MacInnis on the team anymore. EJ is a good defenseman. How they say that he is a bust is beyond me. Its amazing to me how much these people don’t know. They don’t understand how prospects are developed, or that a team can’t be made up entirely of 50+ goal scorers. It drives me freaking NUTS!

There are some nuggets on STLToday

One member name Shakey Walton has some awesome posts. He was with the Blues in the early days in some sort of official capacity or media as he has some great stories. His recall and the way he paints the scene is a pure joy to read. His post about growing up around the ole barn should be published somewhere, rock solid gold. I think he lives out here in SoCal, I’ve wanted to contact him just to have supper and listen to his stories. Anyone know who he is?
