Jonas Junland recalled...
Jeremy Rutherford just twittered that Jonas Junland has been recalled and will join the Blues in Columbus. Apparently Carlo Colaiacovo is dinged up...and Alex Pietrangelo is just not ready for that tenth game...and Eric Brewer is on the IR.
It would be nice to see Jonas suit up and play against the Blue Jackets for sure and continue the magic he has worked down on the farm, scoring 6 goals and 12 assists in 22 games. He also leads the club with a plus-3.

Good for Jonas
He’s obviously showed his talent, and I think on most teams he’s be in the NHL full time already. Good that we’ll get a chance to see what he can do, and if he should fit into our plans as a future top 6 D-Man

Nice.
Makes you wonder why they just don’t play Pietro, though.

I heard . . .
that since Junland is replacing Cola and on a line w/ Weaver. They wanted a lefty with PP experience (and success). So Petro sits and the lefty, PP specialist from Peoria comes up.

wooooo
not suggesting jonus is “the answer” or even “an answer” but i think it prudent to see wheree he is, NHLwize now before his contract is up. the question is this.
is this an emergency call-up or no?

Awesome! but...
are they serious with this Petro stuff? This whole “OMGZ DON”T LET HIM PLAY 10 GAMES OR THE WORLD IS GONNA END" thing is getting a little old. If you’re gonna send him back, send him back; if not, let him play. Can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty sure he’s not going to become the star d-man we need him to be while sitting in the press box…
That being said, I’m glad Jonus is getting the chance he deserves to play with the big boys. Should be fun to watch!
MY NAME IS JONAS!!!!!
I’M CARRYING THE WHEEEEEEL!!!!!
(And yes, I know it’s pronounced Yonas. And no, I don’t give a shit.)
One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.
Where did I miss something happening to Brewer & Cola?
Damnit…I travel to Chicago for 3 1/2 days & I’m out of the loop!!!
Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!
LOL
Brewer is on IR – retroactive to 25 Nov so he could play from Tuesday (some kind of back thing not related to his surgery) and Colaiacovo took a puck off the foot on Saturday and can’t play tonight – he’s day to day though.

Apparently JJ's been sent back down, per Kukla.
Lends weight to the FO’s argument regarding why they called him up. Methinks Cola should be ok by the next game.
