Great Story on Blues Great Berenson
Favorite quote from Glenn Hall on the night of Red's six goal game:
‘Red, you’ve had your hands in the air all night. How about putting them in your pocket and buying us a drink?'

I’ll never forget calling my father in St. Louis (I was in Ohio), asking him the result of that game in Philly. He glibly reported the Blues won big and Berenson scored six goals! I said, c’mon, dad, tell me what really happened! He said I alredy told you. I said quit foolin’ around and tell me. He said I did. I said aren’t you going to tell me? He said I already did. I hung up on him, angry as could be.
Yea, I called and apologized when I saw it in a clipping my mom sent!
Also, I thought for the longest time that (Ed) Van Impe’s first name was “Around”
aka billy pilgrim, time and space traveller
Good to see Red doing well.
I hated the day when the Blues traded him.
"They adopted the team," he said. "They gave us so much support. Every day you went to the rink you felt responsible. You’d say to yourself, ‘We’d better do well."
That is what is missing with the current team, there is no shame in playing like shit anymore. The pride in wearing the note is lacking many times.
Some days its just not worth chewing through the restraints
Ahhhh . . . ol' Red.
Dad still waxes philosophical on this guy every once in awhile, and it makes me feel great every time.
One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.
