12/21 Road Music: @ Edmonton Oilers

Gee, I have no idea what they can use for motivation for this game ...

We all know what happened the last time we played these guys. That meltdown and some of the performances since has put quite a cloud over the team. GM Larry Pleau even came down and gave them an ass-chewing. Good - they needed it. Better yet, the boys seem to have responded. A solid effort, a complete game, and we leave Vancouver with 2 points. This is not a one-game fix, though. Hopefully, what we've established as "our game" is borne out in these upcoming matches as well. We were embarrassed the last time we played; let's return the favor now that we're in their house.

Heart / Even It Up

The Oilers are 2-3-0 in their last 5. In fact, their game in St Louis was the last time that they have won; Edmonton has lost 3 straight, all at home. Here's to that trend continuing.

This is also your pre-party. Plan out your last-second shopping strategy, marvel at the wonderful ice in Edmonton, and wrap your head around this: The EDM goalie is Nikolai Khabibulin, who has a mask that reads " 'Bulin Wall". The Berlin Wall fell in Nov of 1989. At that time, 11 current Blues players were 5 years old or younger, and have no real personal memory of there being a Berlin Wall.  ::sigh::

Heh . . . Heart.

The most violent band with a lady singer that I can think of from the 70’s and 80’s. (First one that suggests Fleetwood Mac or Joan Jett & The Blackhearts gets a virtual Foot In The Ass.)

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

Call it even money.

No dicks in the face (or down the throat), but constant pain. I guess it’s a toss-up?

I would have to say they'd make the top five.

But . . . Nnnnnnnnnot quite #1.

Another late one

means I can’t watch again – oh well. My time will come – I’m counting down the days until I fly over to Anaheim from the UK.

And – the Oilers are putting some rookie goalie in tonight. We need to light that guy up.

Not so much busy...

…as full-blown, got-them-worse-than-the-Statesboro-blues, broken-fucking-hearted depressed.

Christmas sucks for me pretty much, anyway… this year, even more so.

And the thing about it is, this was supposed to be the happiest friggin’ holiday season of my worthless life.

Ah, fuck it. None of you guys want to hear this crap.

Let’s Go Blues. Make those friggin’ Oilers feel worse than I do.

Another Rookie Goalie?

Wow teams are really looking past us. Hopefully that will piss the guys off and make them play. I want Jackman to sucker punch someone again. Iffy on if I can make it to the site during the game. If I can’t make it toast Jon Hamm for me.

The Berlin Wall...

..was put up less than a month after I was born.

I always thought it would last as long as I did.

I have a piece of it somewhere at home.

Hey everyone

This is my first post on here, so let me get things started off right:

FUCK DETROIT.

I became a Blues fan when I was 4 or 5. I still remember my first game at the Old Barn against the Minnesota North Stars. When I was a kid, Ozzie Smith and Brett Hull were like gods to me. I hated Ed Belfour more than anyone in the world. The fight between Curtis Joseph and Tim Cheveldae at center ice was one of the greatest moments in my life. In fact, I’m going to go watch it right now.

I'm no Royals fan . . .

but I’ll say that rooting for Joakim Soria is rooting for awesomeness. Dude oughta form his own Mexican National Guard wing.

Welcome Unibrow

This must be a dream as I read earlier the King’s are first in their division and the local city wants to stop the sales of forties.

If it’s not a hallucination then………. LET’S GO BLUES!!!
