Blues playoffs chances/Drunk holliday thoughts

During the holidays I usually do my rounds around the room, hugging aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmas, and make my way to the relatives I enjoy speaking to.  This Christmas I got into a conversation about the Blues, with my cousins new boyfriend, who so aptly claims: "The Blues are going to trade David Perron and Fire Andy Murray or I will stop watching them"

At this point I was truly alarmed at the audacity of this smug little bitch, I was about to really cut him the fuck down, I mean I was just boiling over thinking of all of the terrible things I wanted to say to this kid and it hit me.  It hit me real hard.  I don't want this person to be a Blues fan as much as I want Fucking Detroit to win the cup (this kid should find a knife and run into it).  I told him he is just like any other bandwagon douchebag who jumps on the train of the stacked team or the sure bet, and expects greatness, not too far from those repugnant Wings Fans.

Not to worry, the holiday cheer comes after the jump, when I settled down from this fiasco, and took a look and whats been going on in the NHL recently, I explained to him the following.

The Blues currently have resurrected from the depths of the Central Division, for the time being.

Teams in the Central Division, over the last 10 games, stand as follows

1. CHI-(24-9-3)-->: 7-3-0 and winning 1 consecutive game - 51pts

2. NHS-(22-12-3)->: 7-2-1 and losing 1 consecutive game - 47pts

3. DET-(18-14-5)->: 5-4-1 and losing 3 consecutive games - 41pts

4. STL-(17-14-5)-------->: 6-4-0 and winning 3 consecutive games - 39pts

5. CLB-(14-17-7)->: 1-7-2 and losing 3 consecutive games - 35pts

(STL has a hypothetically large penis)

That spread is looking kind of cheery to me, I dont know about any of you guys.  We have played one less game than those bastards from DET, who by the way, a Nigerian hijacker just tried to bomb a plane going there???? Who was he going to kill worthwhile in Detoilet? anyway with all due respect its messed up and asinine, but aside from that we have played one less game than the Tampons and are one win away from being 3rd in the division, now NSH has been playing well but I am looking at the schedule, and the standings for the West, and I am kind of liking what I am seeing this christmas night. 

Anyway, in terms of the remaining games for the season, it really is only going to take 8 more wins over the span of the remaining games than any other team in the Central to win the division. That was retarded redundant but had to be to make the point.

I guess this would be a good spot to talk about how Alex Dangles Steener has been on fire since he has returned, Kariya is putting up points while MacD plays sound hockey and somehow isnt rewarded, story of the season.  But In my opinion, over the last ten games, which say more than one might think in terms of chemistry and confidence, that the Blues just may have turned the corner after the spanking by JD, Larry and Co. gave to them.

Im looking at the standings and I am seeing a team, who has fallen to the lower side of luck and circumstance, in a position to take the driver seat and climb the Western Standings.  Maybe some alcohol is making me a believer but who else Knows we are making the playoffs
