This is getting comical. How can a team be so putrid at home?

Regarding the kids books

With lil Wildthing due in February (the world’s newest Blues fan!) that’s some shopping ideas there for me.

I guess the only thing we can do

now is road trip for every away game in hopes of seeing a winner

So only 3 players helped push the bus out of the snow?

The others were trainers and other staff.
I hope the other lazy ass players at least got off the bus to make it lighter.
That really pissed me off for some reason.

by luvhockey on Dec 30, 2009 9:06 AM CST reply actions

For some reason

I don’t think “redwings” is banned for its hockey connotations.

by Washoo on Dec 30, 2009 9:52 AM CST reply actions

It is

There are other sports teams banned. You know whats not banned? FuckDetroit

I would have thought it would have more to do with this:

Urban Dictionary

Especially seeing as how the team name is “Red Wings” with two words.

But I haven’t looked at the list, so I don’t know their criteria.

by Washoo on Dec 30, 2009 1:34 PM CST up reply actions

Heh im FULLY aware

But nah they didn’t have any profanity censored, just sports teams, numbers like 123, and names. Stuff like that.

by Icion on Dec 30, 2009 1:50 PM CST up reply actions

Fair enough.

Interesting they would have things like team names censored. Copyright issues or something?

by Washoo on Dec 30, 2009 4:03 PM CST up reply actions

no

just really easy to guess. the whole point is twitter is trying to protect morons from getting hacked — you know morons who use the password “password.” the redwings are a hugely popular team. if you knew a wings fan, wouldn’t you guess that for his/her password?

by averagejoe on Dec 30, 2009 4:07 PM CST up reply actions

oh fuck me running

PASSWORDS you can’t use. I thought it was like keywords or something. (I do not use twitter & have no idea how it works.)

I got you. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Jeez I gotta stop drinking in the AM.

Well, in all likelihood Willem Defoe will be gone,

and we MIGHT get lucky and make some trades to get a legitimate scoring threat, so….it might be a whole other team out there next season.

I’m just sayin’…if I had the $$$, and wouldn’t be horrifically busy doing 3rd-year rotations…I’d be glad to have season tix.

Yes,

Hence the complete-lack-of-creativity SN.

by Washoo on Dec 30, 2009 10:13 PM CST up reply actions

cool man

I read third year rotations, and figured that’s what you meant. I was – that close to going but changed my mind at the last minute, dental for me haha. Which rotation are you on right now?

by namshite on Dec 31, 2009 1:57 PM CST up reply actions

I don't think

I had the MCAT to get into Wash U though. It was gonna be Mizzou or SLU.

by namshite on Dec 31, 2009 1:59 PM CST up reply actions

I'm only M2 right now,

I was just saying for next season, I’ll be on rotations.

I don’t know anything about Mizzou, but SLU’s a good school. They definitely trump WashU when it comes to clinical skills & patient interaction. WashU is a little too research-focused, IMVHO.

Which dental school are you at? What year?

by Washoo on Dec 31, 2009 2:50 PM CST up reply actions

ahhh IC

Oh, I just applied this cycle for fall ‘10 so I’m waiting to hear back from schools. 5 interviews but no acceptances/rejections yet so I’m kinda in limbo here.

Too bad Wash U. doesn’t have a dental school anymore.

Midway through 2nd year, you starting up on the First Aid for Step 1 yet?

I had heard that Wash U was pretty research oriented (which I was never really too interested in either) but I gotta imagine you can get some great recommendation letters for residencies.

You have anything in mind or are you still trying to figure out what you’re going for?

by namshite on Dec 31, 2009 5:27 PM CST up reply actions

Well best of luck to you. I know how it feels to be in limbo.

Yeah, I haven’t really started up on Boards review yet. The first half of M2 was super-intense, but I think they slack it off some 2nd half to give us time to study. Not very much looking forward to that.

Wash U definitely has the “prestige” thing down, almost to a fault. I do really like it here, and there’s a LOT of awesome research going on. Just wish I didn’t feel quite so unprepared for clinical rotations.

Right now I’m thinking about Emergency Med, but…it could end up being pretty much anything at this point.

by Washoo on Dec 31, 2009 6:32 PM CST up reply actions

EM's a good choice

I think if I would have followed through with it, I probably would have been gunning for rads with EM as a backup, but who knows, a lot can change.

Any kind of surgery just had way too many hours. I don’t know how those people do it.

Anyways good luck on boards, finals, all that other junk you guys gotta do, haha.

Hopefully I’ll be miserable somewhere next fall as well :P

we are on pace

to have as many points at home as we did the first season after the lockout… thats fuckin pathetic.. we have way to much talent to be as bad as the 05-06 team

Its a slump

Either our road hot streak is us or our home game pissbreak is how good our team really is. Since I’ve seen the team be one of the best in the NHL im going with slump at home as the anomaly and not the norm. Will just take time for us to figure it out. Maybe we will do it in time to salvage the season, maybe we won’t. Either way next year we are dropping kariya, winchester, King, Tkachuk, Sydor, maybe weaver. Probably resigning the kids to lower contracts than we would if the team was playing well so no worries for pumping 6mil a year into Perron. Will be a new team next year.

Tomorrow is always a brand new day.

by Icion on Dec 30, 2009 1:58 PM CST up reply actions

i see perron

at 3.5-4 mil/yr tops and use that as a gage for the rest of the youngsters

The article about Paul kariya is ridiculous

I wouldnt even consider him for the Canadian team. He’s on the down slope of his career
