12/05 Road Music; @ Los Angeles Kings

Not much "Pre" to the pre-party, but here we go!

Today we visit our 1967 expansion classmates, the Kings. They've had a great start to the season, and are second (to the Sharks, naturally) in their division. Their success has been largely built on the scoring punch of one line- Anze Kopitar (14-20-34, fourth in the league in points), Ryan Smyth (9-14-23), and Justin Williams (8-12-20).  And those numbers are skewed a little: Ryan Smyth has been on IR since 11/16. They aren't fully armed and operational, but they are still dangerous. Despite missing Smyth, they've still won 4 of the last 5.

If you think southern hockey seems weird now, consider how things looked in 1967 when a franchise was planted in sunny SoCal!  But, here they remain. This also affords me the excuse to use an Adam Ant tune. I love the drums in this.

This is also your pre-party. This is sorta like stretching first, before the intensity of the GDT ... wouldn't want ya to pull a hammy finger muscle or something... Puck drops at 3PM Central

BTW, If you were attending in person, you'd get a Luc Robitaille bobblehead:

Lucky Luc's bobblehead looks constipated.

I know everyone loves a good bobblehead giveaway, but I really haven’t seen one that doesn’t look a little special or one who doesn’t look like he’s passing a kidney stone.

Gah, a 4:00 game… wonky time. Here’s hoping my GameCenter works. Looks like I’ll be watching about 12 hours straight of hockey today. I guess there is a plus to not having my cable set up for the 500th time.

Oh, it is.

After the week I’ve had, this is the perfect way to veg out on a Saturday. Sure beats cleaning… that’s why God invented Sunday.

Our own spectr17 will be at the game

I have no idea how equipped he’ll be for Project Mayhem, but he may snag a bobblehead… So he’s got that goin’ for him, which is nice.

I give the odds of him leaving in cuffs at 6 to 1.

4 to 1 if beer is less than $8 a cup.

I have

my Lucky Luc bobbledead. I and two other STL Blues fans held them upside down and rubbed them during the shootout while at the game. A practice I will continue during the next inevitable shootout

Anyone else heading to Friday's prospect practice at the Mills?
I was at Harry's bar last night on Market Street and look who walks by me. Talked to him a bit and he seems ready for the season to start. Guy has bulked up a lot. Guessing he's 6'1-6'2 and up to 215-225. He's a tank.
Check it out boys, Halak training over in Slovakia, in his new Blues gear. Sadly, no helmet!
One of the few rewards of going through old boxes in the basement. I have at least a couple of hundred of these in a box. This happened to be the 1st one I pulled out. Dated Feb. 15, 2000.

Halak's new glove via ASs on twitter. Hope to see the new pads and blocker as well. For that matter, can't wait to see Halak in action for the Blues.
