Looks like . . .

Cundari’s dominating the OHL again. Not bad from the little big man.

Shattock once again proves that people named Tyler are superior to all beings. Geez, 35 points in 29 games in the WHL? Yikes.

And I know Finland is much different from the AHL, much less the NHL . . . but it’s nice to see Lehtera dominating their league.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

Big thank you to Brian

I’ve been trying to keep up with stats via Hockeydb, but being on dial-up makes it a real pain in the ass. Thanks for putting it all in the same place!

Thoughts:

Tyler Shattock’s numbers really jump out at me (according to the db, he had another game with 2 assists, possibly tonight, to up it to 37 points in 30). Even more so, while the +2 might not look impressive, it becomes more impressive when the majority of the team is around -10. Just be cautious, Sonne dominated the league last year, and look what he’s doing in Peoria

Sergei Andronov’s 10 points is a lot more impressive in the Russian League then it would be otherwise. He’s 4th on his team in scoring, and 2 of the ones beating him are 29.

Simon Hjalmarsson’s totals have been kinda iffy, but he is in a better league then last year, and is one of only 2 players to have a plus on his team team. I’m assuming he’ll be coming to the US next year, right?

James Livingston’s jump in terms of production is worth noting. Last year he had 37 points in 66 games, and, worst of all, a -26 (though, to be fair, everyones plus minus sucked for that team. One dude had a -43). This year he’s a +7 (and this is still a generally minus team), along with his 20 points in 26 games.

I’m not sure how hyped I should be about Mark Cundari’s numbers. He is playing with Taylor Hall, and his team is completely dominant and nobody to be fucked with, so it makes you wonder how much of it is him. Then again, he DOES have the highest plus/minus on the team, including Hall.

Bishop is the next in line?

Not sure those numbers get it done. I haven’t seen any of the Peoria games but last year Legace’s save percentage was much better than bishops and this year it looks like a dead heat with Toivenen, and nether has stellar numbers. too soon to write either gaolies off, but they each appear to have a ways to go.

Both Bishop and Toivonen are placeholders, IMO...

Until Jake Allen is ready. Allen will probably be in the AHL next year, or the year after that for sure… and Karpowich, though his numbers aren’t impressive, has looked very solid at both Pro Orientation Camps where I’ve seen him.

I would not be surprised if the Blues drafted another goalie this year, late rounds, probably a European.
