Blues To Open Season in Sweden
Just as we'd all expected, the Blues will open the 2009-2010 season in Sweden, making at least one Game Time reader very happy.

Look, it has its own logo!
Also making the trip are the Blackhawks, Panthers and Red Wings. The Blues will play a home-and-home (isn't that more like just an away-away?) against the Red Wings.
No word on how anyone expects Game Time to publish a home paper for that.

Bullshit. I know we have some dudes in Europe who are down for the GD Threads but sorry folks, this is something I can NOT get behind. Forget my disdain for European players. Why the hell does the league focus on gaining fan in Europe when they need to focus on the U.S.? They do such a shit job in the states of promoting the league, not to mention all the chances they are taking by heading over there.
This just pisses me off.

I'd volunteer to be a vendor during the Blues' "home game"
but I don’t know how to make change with that money. And it all looks like it’s from a board game, so somebody could hand me $10 bill from Euro Monopoly and tell me to keep the change and I would be all like, “Yeah! How far is Amsterdam from here?”
“Four Euros of good karma” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Fuck this shit
they play on my birthday against detroit for once, but they do it in FUCKING SWEDEN…HORSECOCK!!!
You say 'Tomato', I say 'FUCK DETROIT', so lets call the season off
Here is the EXACT reason why this idea of a European game is Dog Dick. Actual relatively “life long fans” (quotes because you are a younger dude i could be wrong though. if that is the case please ignore my flagrant use of quotation marks) get the shaft on their birthday. ’Nuf said.
I’m even more pissed now. Can’t wait to his the weights at lunch today.

That’s what the Intarwebz is for…
BTW, the Bleak Hoax and Panthers are playing in Helsinki… that’s in Finland, for those of you that flunked geography…

See... it could be worse...
We could be the ‘Hawks and be playing a team that isn’t even in our conference and that we see about 2x a century, which basically makes the whole thing totally pointless.
Oh, and we could be playing in Finland. Yaaaaay. At least our game makes sense. Who outside of Sunshine cares about the Panthers regardless of how well they play?

Second verse, different from the first:
No word on how anyone expects Game Time to publish a home paper for that.
Make Marcus do it all. And make him e-mail us copies of whatever he comes up with.
Let's go Blues!!!
Y' know, getting Marcus invokved in the European distribution of GT might not be such a bad idea...

Does this mean they’re going to install a cannon in the arena in Stockholm for the Blues’ home opener?
Birthday Present??
How bout you guys raise some green and send me there as a ‘international correspondent’ for my birthday

I’m obviously very excited about the games. Very excited.
Although, I understand AM and the rest of the unbelievers. As I see it, the NHL doesn’t really have to bring games over to keep people over here interested. Hockey’s the no2 sport here in Sweden already, football (you call it "soccer") is no1. There’s plenty of NHL games on TV, I know a lot of people who stays up all night to follow the NHL. So, I don’t really get this “promoting the game overseas” thing.
Not that I’m complaining though.
