I say Go for It!!

And why not see if there is a way to pick up Kovalchuk?  Now that's aplyer worth some prospects and picks.  Hit up Pronger as well.  I love Boyes and he's at a decent price but would you move him for Ilya?  Something I was contemplating in my mind and so wondered what anybody else thought.

Of course I'm liking the chemistry but I definitely see there'sa couple of needs the Blues have.  And I belive it has to be balanced with the youth coming.  But Ily's young and great.  A true sniper.  Man that'd be awesome of course depending on the price.

Ol' Strick hinted at Petro for Pronger type of deal.  It made me sick to my stomach.  But it also makes me wonder if there was something about him the Blues saw and did not like at all.  I think it has to do with his physicallity and ability to take a hit as well as give one.  I'm just trying to read minds here.  I love Petro and want to him in a Blue note growing up here.  I'd rather move Cole.  Time will tell.

Remember I'm just thinking about things.  I'm excited.  I am NOT one for trading the future away.  But the Blues don't see things the way I do and we will not see four lines capable of scoring here.  Murray likes only two lines a "checking" line and an energy line.  I'm more of a three lines that can score one not reliant on grit and grit mixed in down the lines and a checking line that can create offense.  The checking line that can creat--to me I'd say think Jay McClement.  That's what I have always advocated a fourth liner should be like.  Not going to necessairly score but creates chances and is defensively responsible.  Of course you need some bigger guys who are tough as well.

Interested in thoughts on any of the shit I just spluttered.

I fear Russians...

…because they all know that they can skip off home to Mother Russia any time they want and make the big bucks in the KHL (providing, of course, the KHL doesn’t go belly-up with the rest of the global economy. Thanks, “President” Bush and your Wall Street miserable, shit-knuckle, thieving fucks friends…).

That said, I’d seriously consider Boyes to ATL for Kovalchuk… but I doubt that ATL would trade one for the other straight-up; the Blues would probably have to add something, and depending on what that “something” is, that could be too high a price to pay.

I also say that the Blues should do “whatever it takes” to get this guy back and jumping over the boards someplace on this continent…

HMUP hits on a real issue, however… the real issue for me, in fact:

Murray likes only two lines, a “checking” line, and an energy line.

That’s exactly right, and that’s what kept the Blues from calling Lemtyugov up earlier this year. This “he’s not consistent enough yet” crap was just that… crap. A whitewash to excuse Murray’s devotion to grinders.

Murray would a team of 12 Jay McClements and six Barret Jackmans if he could… and while that team would work it’s ass off, and hit a ton, they’d score about 150 goals — max — in an 80-game season.

It’s the same issue with my boy Perron; you’ve got to let the painters paint, and the plumbers plumb. And when you need a painter, your first move should not be to call up every plumber you have in Peoria before even thinking about giving the painter a shot….

I agree man.

I know Atlanta would want more than Boyes. I should have wrote that in as well. But I’d do it. Atlanta you want Boyes and Sonne for Ilya? Okay. First we must seak with Ilya and make sure he;ll want to sign with us. Sure we’ll throw in Walt.

But yeah I completely agree about Murray. He’s silly like that. At least McClement is an upgrade on the fourth line. It’s nice to see al the chances he creates from that spot even if most don’t go in. Last season we had Ryan fucking"I can’t score more than seven goals in a season" Johnson.

But wouldn’t it be great if we could roll out four lines capable of scoring. I’m not saying four scoring lines mind you. You need varying degrees of grit spread out but being able to roll four lines out that can score would be wicked.

KSDK was hyping a potental...

…David Perron for Chris Pronger trade. If that happens, this franchise will have “jumped the shark.”

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
