Come on now, James. It's time to drop your East-Coast bias, media-centric, Toronto (and allegedly Nick Kypreos) love and admit what you need to admit: These Blues are a real threat at this point.

Despite his declaration it's 'unlikely' (read: Impossible! No way! Bite me!) that the Note can go even 8-5 over the last 13 to make the playoffs, he has to begrudgingly admit that he has to take the second hottest team since Jan. 1 'seriously.'

Mirtle, you middle management pig (read: cool guy, thanks for the help and opportunity, look us up when you're in town), why not get on the bandwagon while there are still good seats available?

The Blues have beaten Boston, San Jose, Chicago, Philadelphia, and other top teams in that time.

Come on, James, I'll even let you wear my horrid 90's era Brett Hull jersey when you come to the first playoff game here in Gateway City.

All you have to do is admit that you believe.

Real threat to get tuned by Detroit in Round 1?

That Western Canada road swing seems to be death for so many teams. If they only go 1-2-0 on it, then they’re down to needing to go 7-3-0 the rest of the way, and that’s just to get to 88 (which might not be enough).

I start believing once they take four or five points out of the next road trip.

Of course you wouldn't understand

Remember: Mirtle rhymes with turtle. So throw your arms up in front of your face and drop to the ice, while we enjoy an inspired playoff push by what is becoming one of the most entertaining teams to watch.

Heh, hey enjoy it all you want. I’m not saying it’s not impressive – I’m just trying to be realistic about their playoff hopes.

Realistic?!? Realistic?!? Were we realistic when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

The Western Canada swing is just Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary. The scariest thing on that trip is Kiprusoff.

For those too lazy to clicky and scroll, the link states:
10. St. Louis Blues (13 games remaining, 32-29-8 for 72 points. Four games at home, nine on the road)

With exactly one home game in April, the Blues will probably be put to death during the final stretch. This week will be a lot like April, as they have three road games against teams that would be in the playoffs right now, with a game at Edmonton and then a back to back against Vancouver and Calgary. Thanks for trying, St. Louis. You’re fucked.

Let's go Blues!!!

Was that written

by the same jokers that picked the Blues to finish dead last in the NHL this season?

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
