We’re actually doing good against one of the best teams in the league and cup faves. Fortune has favored the Nucks so far. It easily could be 1-1 or even 2-0 Blues. We were inches from OT last game.

I understand your reaction to my pessimism, that you are mad at me and telling me how much I am such an asshole. Nevertheless, I cannot change who I am. In 1968, we were not favored to beat the Flyers, yet somehow we did. In the next round, we were not favored to beat the North Stars, but somehow we did in that second OT, on a breakaway goal by number 10! Even though we lost in the next round, the Finals, all of those games were decided by one goal. And, our goalie actually won the Conn-Smythe trophy that year, even though we didn’t win the cup.
This year, though, is different. There is no Glen Hall. There is no Red Berensen, and no Barclay Plager.
Deal with it, Blues’ fans. This is not the year. Mason is great, but he is not Glenn Hall. We have met our match this year: an ignominiously 4 games and out. Louongo is just too good.

You give no credit for the effort so far. We’re this __ close to being 1-1 or even up 2. We outhit them this game and if it goes 5 or 6 games the Nucks are going to be purple and yeller like Sundin’s eye.
I followed the 60s Blues, those were veteran teams, these young whippersnappers are not giving up to supposed superior team and goalie.

I understand your comment, but it is from emotion. In terms of the 60s teams, they were not all veterans. Crisp and Sabourin and St Marseille and Schock and Terry Gray and Cameron and McCreary were not seasoned NHL veterans.
You want to bag on the team that’s fine. Lose youtr emotion and it boils down to a skilled favorite clinging to leads in the 3rd over a team that shouldn’t even be here.

Your comment reveals the problem, when you say: “a team that shouldn’t even be here.” You are saying that the Blues do not really belong in the playoffs; I disagree: I think they totally belong, after what they have done in the past three months, and I think they should be competing at the same level as those past three months. But, surprisingly, that is not happenning. It is you that says they shouldn’t be here, not me. I thought they would be great in the playoffs this year, but so far no go: Van’s goalie is better, and that is the problem. If Loungo gives up a softie like the goal Van scored tonight in the 2nd period, then we might have a chance. As it is, though, I unfortunately see this as a 4-0 series.

You’ve convinced me. We should call and concede the final two games and call it quits. That’s how you breed success.
It may not be our year, but then again, there’s a reason they play the games. If we hoist the cup, awesome. If not, it’s all gravy to me. I just remember the last home game I was at, not wanting the season to be over, not being done with hockey. So I’ll be there Sunday and Tuesday and Sunday screaming my head off.

But will the entire team? That is what has pissed me off the most in the last couple games. Vancouver is too good for players to not be at their best against. If the whole team doesn’t show up, then this will be a quick series.

This team is particularly disappointing: a terrible effort so far in the playoffs, when their effort and passion is compared to that of their fans. Was Tkachuk even on the ice tonight? But of course it cannot be his fault: just blame it on Perron and the young players; that said: WHERE IS OSHIE?
