I was confused by that one – thank goodness I skimmed the calender in the season ticket pack they sent me. The games are the 27th, 28th and 29th – I’m disappointed. No 4 game series, and it’s still during the school year at night. Ugh.
I think the Atlanta teams are cross-promoting, because no way in hell would I buy season tix for the Braves.

I haven’t seen any player on this team elevate his game for the playoffs except for Andy Mac and Mason. The kids have had a couple flashes, but have otherwise been ineffective.

Oshie, Perron and Berglund are not faltering at all from the way they played in the regular season. Perron in particular is giving up the body (did you not see that first-period blocked shot).
For whatever reason, the power play and penalty kill have gone to hell in a handbasket, and that’s been the difference.

Opinions on tonight
Just got back from the game here are some random thoughts Larry King Style dot dot dot:
Casual fans are pissing me off….shitty special teams aside, we did play better tonight then in games 1 and 2…..we need to pace ourselves, we played balls on fire in the first period but seemed out of gas by the end of the game….if Cam Janssen isn’t good enough to take regular shifts with his line causing people to double up potentially leading to more fatigue, then he shouldn’t be in the lineup….I am pretty sure Yan Stastny was in warmups today (there was a #25 on the ice)….this is not over, winning four games in a row is not impossible it happens a lot more than people think (why does everyone always focus on the coming back from the 3-0 part, when teams have been down 1-0, 2-0, or swept series all the time)…if you don’t think we can do this then fuck you
Also, I missed it at the game as I was looking at something else on the ice, anything in particular set Backes off at the end or am I to guess it was something that was said?

Anyway, I’ve been called the pessimistic one on the boards here for saying this before the series, but it might be true…the Blues very well may have spent theirs on the run to the playoffs and celebrated a bit early. I think playoffs was the goal this year and now that they are there…anything else will be just gravy.
I hope that next year (with a healthy Pietrangelo and Johnson on defense and Kariya/others on offense) is the year that the Blues make the leap to sit in the middle of the pack for the next two or three years until they become contenders for the President’s Trophy annually again. Once we are there, getting somewhere in the playoffs will be a goal, instead of just working our butts off to get there in the last 30 games of the year.

I said it after the playoff clincher . . . anything that happens from this point IS gravy (as you noted).
With that being said, a playoff sweep is unacceptable.
If that happens . . . the youngsters that are here and the youngsters that are watching from afar CANNOT be happy about what they’re watching. And they shouldn’t be happy either.
However, I don’t think a sweep will happen. I refuse to believe this team will NOT win a game in this series. Maybe I’m biased or something. It happens.

this is a team dead last in jan. instead of sitting down and giving in the worked and got back into it. If we do lose then there is nothing to be upset about we are still better than half the other teams in the league. Look at the coyotes they were sitting in 4th or 5th spot a couple months ago, now they are no one. We are still a team not to be messed with. This is no easy game for vancouver. This will be their hardest series. Not because we are amazing or talented but we are the blood thirsty underdogs. I refuse to be down on this team after what they have done all season. At least we arent capitals or sharks right now who were supposed final contenders and both teams seem in panic mode. You know for a fact that some of these shots on goal would have gone in if it was kipper, or mason or osgood. But its luongo and this is and probably will be his best season of his career.
We have kids playing who have never down this before and are nervous and forget what to do when its this huge. Give them a year make playoffs next year and everyone will be more comfortable. Honestly when we beat avs in last game of season i had a feeling that would be a problem because i think we would have done better against sharks.
Blues still successful and still honorable, way to go blues and lets give canucks a run still, we will not give them anything you can beat game 4 will be just as intense.
also would help if we didnt give 3 PP goals to vancouver but thats my opinion
