Your Late Night Poll

Yet another late night poll for all of you insomniacs. This one is gonna close in the wee hours, so it's just for the late-nighters.

I like to believe that I'm not superstitious. I know that things I wear and actions I take do not directly result in wins and losses for the team I watch.

And yet, on Sunday night as I drove home I actually thought about the fact that I didn't wear my Hull clownsuit jersey and that the team has done pretty well when I have worn it lately.

Of course, the team did pretty well lately anyway, so...

But again, what if I had worn it?

And hence tonight's poll:

Poll
How superstitious are you?
Every game day I wear the same clothes, eat the same food.

Rituals are for insane people.

I'm not crazy superstitious, but I do have one thing that I do.

I'd never give in to something wacky like that. Now excuse me while I go flick my lightswitch on and off exactly 23 times.

I started wearing my away Blues jersey when the Blues wore theirs at home against Columbus for that key two-game weekend series, and continued to only wear the white one for games until they made the playoffs…

now its magic seems to have worn off… I switched to the blue one last night (my usual stand-by), but they lost again, so I might have to break out my old red-striped white Blues jersey… I do not look forward to this.

i actually saw a guy with the hull clownsuit jersey at the peoria houston playoff game tonight…..my buddy and i were trying to catch him in the concourse but he was too fast, so now that coupled with this poll has made me more superstitious so i will wear my hull clownsuit jersey to the rivs vs “arrows” game 5 in houston wed nite……

Wait

I’m the THIRD person to comment on this? Crap.

And the wife thought the Blue Out was Sunday so I wore and old Pronger. The team USA Tkachuk has been the go to. But don’t call it a comeback.

I’m jabbering at this point. I hope the cover story turned out ok.

for every game for the last few weeks

i’ve worn something blue. gym shorts, underwear, shirts — you name it. i wore my blank blues jersey to the game sunday. the jersey is 0-3 at blues games. needless to say it won’t be making an appearance the rest of the playoffs. its staying in my travel bag.

tomorrow, blue polo to work … and a fistful of tums. does anyone here go to bed at a reasonable hour?

For the past few Hawks games I’ve worn the same shoes, jeans, shirt, sweatshirt and jersey. The only things that have changed is my socks and underwear. After tonight’s loss, don’t think I’m not blaming the underwear and socks…

shocker.

the SCH/CI guys are insomniacs AND superstitious.

I wonder why we get along so well. Probably alcoholics, too.

sometimes

if good things happen, i don’t change what i was doing at the time good things happened.
my good buddy avgjoe and i had single seats in different sections at the game sunday. pregame, we were hanging out in the Top Shelf SRO area. and we were discussing watching the first period there and then moving to seats.

and i was like dude, if we’ve got the lead after the first by standing here, we can’t move up to our seats. you know that, right?

The only Blues apparel I own is a Blues hoodie...

During the final push, I found that wearing the hoodie brought back luck and going so far as to make sure it wasn’t even in the same room seem to considerably improve the outcome.

Apparently, the playoffs are a different beast, so now i’ll have to counter the superstition and make damn sure I’m wearing that hoodie for every moment of every remaining Blues game (all 16+ of them).

And goodnight, Night Owls. I just rented Call of Duty: World at War so that’s my reason for being up so late. But a guy’s gotta sleep sometime and that time is now.

I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.

For Wii. Call of Duty: World at War for Wii.

Pretty damn fun game…and this coming from a guy who avoids all FPS’s (unless you’re counting Metroid Primes).

I wear that free gold "WHATEVER IT TAKES" shirt under whatever I wear to the game....

matches the gold on the 2 jerseys I have.

I got my Tkachuk jersey...

…that I got during the lockout for 20 bucks at JCPenneys. Gotta love when they clear out stuff and get a discount on top of it. I’ve worn that to almost 30 games over the last 4 years.

And I’ve always been an insomniac when I have access to a computer this late at night. I just wish there were more sports updates this late.

OMG

I really thought it was just me.
I got a new Oshie jersey on Sunday…hope I don’t ruin his career.

I’ve not been wearing a jersey during the season since it seemed to be pretty good luck. Now with the playoffs looking like this, I’m going to have to break out the autographed MacInnis jersey. Hopefully that will help turn this thing around.

Barret Jackman is my hero.

Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.

No matter the temperature, or how far I have to walk...

I don’t wear a coat to games, and I always park at a meter.

Brad makes fun of me for the lack of outerwear all the time.

Better than...

a lack of underwear I suppose.

I bought a 3rd Jersey on the 13th...

I wore it at home during the Blues road games and to the 1st home game at drinkscotch.
I am now wearing the jersey I wore throughout the regular season….FTW…just tonight..that is all I am asking.
