Speaking of miracles...
Canes just scored with .02 seconds left on the clock to win. Un-REAL.

For playoff hockey, the officiating and suspensions are HORRIBLE.
The league needs to look at a lot of this. But they won’t. Gotta save face.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
Well
they review at the end of each round. The good refs/linesmen move on. As for the suspensions it all seems to be on what the name on the back of the jersey is and the team on the front.

I've noticed that so far too.
Hit or miss stuff in the playoffs irritates me. I hope all the guys from this game don’t advance to the next round.

*wow*
This is like the time when someone almost hit me at the grocery store and my mother said words I never knew she had in her.
No, seriously – she made me follow the people, got out of my Bronco, and started screaming at them. Pure awesome. I can’t wait until your kids can experience that one day. Just not on Mothers’ Day, because that’s when it happened to me.

He looked about 2 seconds away from that. HE was PISSED.
Makes sense, since he seemed nearly interfered with.

Jokinen skated by him and bumped him. Brodeur was WAYYYYY out of the crease though and Jokinen didn’t do it on purpose.

shouldn't a whistle be accompanied by an arms-oustretched motion?
It would give a visual cue to be reviewed, but no, that would make too much sense.
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
Well technically yes.
But the ref has to explain that he was in the process of getting ready to blow it, and the intent supersedes the goal.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
intent? hell, the ref could just make up a reason if he feels like it. "yeah, I meant to blow it 40 seconds earlier, but … "
Totally agree.
I think that’s a dumbass rule. It’s when he puffs it or not. Simple as that. The NHL needs to rule it the same way.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
a replay with sound would show
that they didn’t blow the whistle until at least a full second later. after the puck had come back across the goal line and gotten stuck under bob’s OTHER pad.
if they intended to blow the whistle, they were intending to blow it while the puck was still live.
bullshit all around.

in college basketball, the refs whistle is tied to game clock. whistle auto stops clock. that would be helpful in hockey.
Shame on you for suggesting that the ONLY thing about basketball that makes sense...
…might also be applicable to hockey. :)

OK, my computer is a piece of crap...
…but nothing like the goddamn zebra that completely blew that goal call.
There was no goddamn whistle, and here was no waving off of the goal until after the puck was in and out of the net.
And that “when the referee thinks he’s gonna blow the whistle, that’s when the play is dead,” is 100% tee-total bullshit.
If the Blues lose by one goal tonight, John Davudson needs to be on the next lane to New York with a copy of that review, march into the Supervisor of Officials’ office, and jam that videotape straight up his ass… sideways.
The Blues got screwed. Plain and simple. Screwed. And dry-screwed at that…
Ya fuckin’ “A” right I’m pissed off… and the Blues had damn well better be, too, and come out this period loaded for friggin; bear.

Let’s go Blues!
