Sunday Links/DanGNR Quiz

Welcome one, welcome all! Here comes a few links, but I'm giving most of the spotlight to DanGNR with a quiz he sent in.

Quiz:

DanGNR should be along at some point during the day to post answers. Until then, don't be an ass and cheat by googling. I don't think you get anything for winning anyway.

1.Name the NHL player who played the most regular season NHL games in the 2008-09 season.
(hint, he's a defenseman that was traded and is still playing this post-season) Editor's Note: Playing as of Friday when this e-mail was sent)

Based on Arena location, of all the NHL teams that made the playoffs, which team is farthest:

2. West?

3. East?

4. South?

5. North?

6. Based on Arena location, which NHL team is closest to St. Louis? (As the crow flies)

7. Based on Arena location, which NHL team is closest in Latitude to St. Louis?

8. Based on Arena location, which NHL team is closest in Longitude to St. Louis?

9. Based on Arena location, which NHL team (aside from Colorado) is the highest in elevation?

10. How about highest elevation in the Eastern conference only?

Good luck. We'll see you next weekend.

Sure Detroit is dangerous...

….but I was more interested to see St. Louis fall out of the Top 10! We are now behind Charleston and Little Rock???

There goes our reputation for being bad ass motherfuckers.

1. I’m having a hard time remembering who all was traded, but I recall seeing something about Boston’s Michael Ryder scoring 4 goals against his former team (Montreal) than when he was playing FOR them. but I can’t remember if he was even traded during the season
2. Vancouver (west)
3. NY Rangers (east)
4. Anaheim (south)
5. Calgary (north)
{on these, I wasn’t sure if you meant teams in the playoffs or not so I put two answers (playoffs/entire NHL)}
6. Chicago (nearest)
7. Carolina / Colorado (latitude)
8. Detroit / Minnesota (longitude)
9. Chicago / Minnesota (elevation)
10. Carolina / Buffalo (elevation east)

Michael Ryder I believe was traded last offseason, and even if he wasn’t, he’s a forward, and not a defenseman. :)

Yep

Stl is at 90.202514° West
Chi is at 87.674195° West for a difference of 2.528319°
Min is at 93.105901° West for a difference of -2.903387°
