Is this the superstar trade that the Kings were going for... and everyone thought that they meant Vinny?

According to The Score.com's Twitter feed, and re-tweeted by Mirtle and Leahy, the Kings traded Jack Johnson (!) and the 5th overall pick to the Ducks for Chris Pronger. I am speechless. Yes, Pronger is still probably one of the best D men in the game, but to sell the future for him?

Kudos to St. Louis for refusing to send Perron and some picks out there, and what a dumb move by the Kings. They have a good, solid youth movement progressing and are growing good talent. And they lose part of it for someone who won't stay with the org. for a good number of years. Here's hoping that it's worth it.

Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?

Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.

it’s no secret that Jack Johnson is/was untouchable. but with the addition of Doughty, maybe JJ is expendable…at the right price

That'd be one hell of a guitarist the Ducks would be getting . . .

oh . . . what? Not the same guy? Oh.

Nah, in all seriousness . . . I’m pretty sure this trade is nowhere close to being official, but if it ever BECOMES official it will be the worst move the LA Kings have ever made in the history of their franchise. I think I can say that without doubt.

A certain online "journalist"

whose name rhymes with Randy Brickland reported it was a done deal…PULLED the story and put a new one up saying Pronger deal could be in the works, no confirmation and pulled back the pick and names mentioned in his original post.

Good work by him.

What an assmaggot.

And this is why I don’t trust “Randy Brickland” for one Goddamned thing.

That's the kind of quality journalism you pay to get on Hockeybuzz

What would you grade that rumor on my Bullshit Scale? I’d say it’s at least b4.

It's a funny name.
