I was kind of hoping it looked more like Jack Adams.
Tonight is the NHL awards shindig/keg party in Las Vegas. Despite the fact that Gallagher and I are both on family vacations and he's in the desert southwest, neither of us is there. Or will be watching. But you might be.
So treat this as your NHL awards GDT. Fill up the comments. We won't be watching.
Andy Murray could be the fourth Blues coach to win the award following Red Berenson, Brian Sutter and Coach Q. It ended well for all of them, right? Right?

Shit, boy did I screw the pooch, I let the deadline slip for getting my press credential for the NHL awards show tonight and here I sit, all bummed out. I may still cruise up for the partying after the show. Lost Wages is an easy 3 hour drive from Redlands here , mostly wide open desert highway iffen I don’t stop at the trailers in Jean NV for a rub n tug.
Reading the NHL blog from Vegas is looks like the shindig has been going on for a day or two already. I really wanted to do some special reporting for SLGT, sort of like Triumph The Insult Dog from Conan does on the red carpet. Hey Kane, nice crocs.
If not I’ll just watch them on TV. Anybody every go to the awards? I won’t fuck it up next year, promise.

first thing i did was create myself
i just wanted to see what you could do. didnt make him awesome. hes basically stock avg.. i forgot about him/didn’t realize he was saved, started a franchise and well … hes on the canes. kinda weird. hes not PCS good but weird to check myself.
That “Be a Pro” mode is some good stuff. Dynasty’s fun, too.
Did you leave the “Make a Wish” kid in the game?
I created my guy in the mode of a Defensive D-man with high marks in checking and awareness. All the offense went into the slapshot.
I also lead the league in penalty minutes.

shes fucking stonewalling for the islanders. its redic. she almost stole the calder from ben bishop who got promote in 08-09 because manny and legace sucked dick. bishop then became god — his size is awesome at blocking the net.
what system you playing on?
PS3, but I’m hoping for a 360 for my birthday in a couple of weeks. So I’ll probably play ’10 on that if I get it. I figure Xbox Live and the Netflix stuff is worth it.

I was WAY late to this party. Considering there was only one award that I remotely gave a shit about, it’s typical.
And sure, we could all bitch that Green Goblin should’ve won the Jack Adams, but . . . there’s no mistaking that Claude Julien did a hell of a job with that hockey club in Boston for pretty much the whole regular season (we’ll leave out the final 1:30 of regulation on MLK Day).
Anyway. I won’t be here for the draft next week. Wedding reception down by Rend Lake that weekend.

He did a hell of a job with a team that suffered at most a 1/4 of the injuries and was quite a bit more talented to start with. Where did they end? Oh yea… one round farther than us.
Sorry DK, but I can’t give a coach with a superstar lineup that isn’t plagued by injuries, more credit than our coach. When Claude Julien starts coaching his 2nd most injured team in the NHL team to the second round of the playoffs, then I might have some all-star respect for him. Until then, he can kiss off.
