The 38-year-old Guerin, whose playoff beard closely resembled a brillo pad this season, has signed a one-year, $2 million contract extension with the Stanley Cup champion Penguins.

Guerin made himself a relevant NHL commodity again during his 61-game career in St. Louis, coming off a terrible 13-goal season in Dallas that had plenty of people questioning whether his NHL career was coming to a close. Including the 28 goals he scored in the Bluenote that partial year, he has potted 80 goals since that last poor season in Dallas in 2005-06.
