Blues Tender Qualifying Offers To Six Players
On top of the Mike Weaver and Brad Winchester signings, management has announced that six players' rights were reserved by issuing qualifying offers. The offers make the players Restricted Free Agents, meaning that if another team signs them to a contract, the Blues have the option of either matching the contract and keeping the player or accepting compensation in exchange for the loss of the player.
Had the players not been given QOs, they would have become Unrestricted Free Agents, free to sign with any team in the league.
The players are Roman Polak, Dancin' Steve Wagner, Danny Richmond, Jonathan Filewich, B.J. (the Beej) Crombeen and Chris (Steve Holt!) Holt.

Danny Richmond and Jonathan Filewich?
I consider myself quite a follower of the Blues, but who the fuck are these guys? I know they were down in Peoria, but are they really that good to qualify them?

The franchise has to worry about both clubs.
Peoria needs bodies too.

true. Good move by JD & Friends...

I agree
I was surprised those two guys got qualifying offers, and someone like Regier who led Peoria in points and had a couple good games with the blues, wasn’t given an offer. I know Whitfield is a UFA, im surprised they didn’t make him an offer as well.

Good.
They tendered an offer to Polak.
How soon does Vancouver offer, like, a hundred bajillion dollar offer sheet for him? I can’t fucking wait.

So who WASN'T tendered other than Woywitka and Whitfield?
Whenever I heard Trent Whitfield, I always thought of “The Secret of My Success” with Michael J. Fox. His fake young executive was Carlton Whitfield.

Awesome news.
Great way to wrap up the most boring vacation ever (not my fault). I’m hoping for a good Free Agent day tomorrow to make the drive home better. Here’s hoping for a goalie (Anderson hopefully).

Thank God
I’ve been stocking up on BJ and Polak jokes.
Good chance of having a Filewich one too… So far it involves a sassy administrative assistant….
