Blues News:
- Jeremy Rutherford discusses Roman Polak's "hnfinished business." I sure hope they don't fix the typo, otherwise I'll look like an idiot (more than usual, anyway).
- It's some sort of foreign language. But it mentions the Blues! First one to offer some sort of translation wins an internet high five.
NHL News:
- The 2009 draft is in the books. That means you can start talking and writing about the 2010 draft.
- Larry Wigge of NHL.com goes from waxing about the Blues to writing about how the Hawks aren't satisfied.
- This broke a couple of days ago, but Colby Armstrong re-upped with the Thrashers. I sense a big year for the guy and a lucrative UFA deal next summer. Bird Watchers tells you all about it.
- Nabokov would wave his NTC and Marleau would give up the "C." Isn't this a team that just won the President's Trophy?
- Now this is a cool idea: Hockey blog video game tournament. Anybody here on Xbox Live? I'm "Magoo51"
- Capgeek.com's trade machine. If you can get Chicago under the cap, you win!
Other Stuff:
- Runaway Wienermobile! (Thanks, Andy)
- In response to this idiot's query: Yes, you're going to die. Very sorry for you.
- Sorry to the overseas visitors, but this is why America is #1: We fend off animal attacks with chainsaws.
- Need a little boost to your game to help you land that hottie at your local bar? Use the Pick Up Line Generator.Or don't. Whatever works.
Video:
Since the NHL 10 link got quite a response, here's a video passed along to me by Mizzourah showing some gameplay footage. Ignore the fact that Crosby scores on us.
Stay tuned for a Game Time Prospect Department interview with 2008 draft pick David Warsofsky.
Averagejoe is back for the work week. He's good at this sort of thing.

Now, you guys know that I started thinking about the 2010 Draft about five minutes after the Blues selected Max Tardy, right?

Via Google Translation (it is Polish, it seems):
NHL: New season start 1. October
mk, PAP 2009-07-18, last updated 2009-07-18 08:22
The new NHL season hokejowej (DK Note: What the FUCK?!?!) league start on 1 October. On the first day of the regular season in the U.S. and Canada come to games: Boston Bruins – Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs – Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks – Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames – Vancouver Canucks
2 and 3 October will be played two games in Helsinki, where the Chicago Blackhawks will play the Florida Panthers and in Stockholm aims to double-team St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings, Stanley Cup finalists this year.
The picture caption is fucking hilarious when translated from Polish to English . . . even if, again, one word can’t be understood. It says: “HokeiĆci Pittsburgh Penguins of the Stanley Cup”.
That’s right . . . our teams “come to games” here in North America, and the Blues and Dead Things aim to double-team in Stockholm. I fucking love this shit.
Ummmmm . . . you’re welcome.

You really can’t make something up better than the Blues are looking to double-team in Sweden.

perhaps
there will be some blowing of the jobs…
The mistranslation might make for a short but funny one-act involving the rookie condo ….

Peeved about the Army deal.
Thrilled that he avoided arbitration, but I know that Waddell wanted a multi-year deal to lock him down. People were apparently stalking DW at the trade deadline about Armstrong – especially Detroit, who was even sending scouts here to watch him after the deadline. Waddell said that he got some REALLY good offers, and turned them all down flat. If we don’t either re-up him (I think he wants to test the H2O as far as money goes, and God knows we can afford it) or get some good pieces back from him at the deadline I will be PISSED. And if he goes to Detroit I’m going to be upset. I like the kid a lot, and I don’t want to have to hate him.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
