A challenge for all GameTimers ...
Another hockey blogger, Wrap Around Curl, recently celebrated an anniversary of sorts. It's been a year since she
Well you can present a case as to why I should adopt them and I’d consider it. You just can’t make love happen.
My assignment to you all: Lay out your case in the comments below. I'll link to this fanpost on her site, and she can come here and read them all. Surely, all of us can be more persuasive than just me alone.... I'll start us off.

For starters...
The Leafs have former Blues Mike Van Ryn, Lee “Dutchie” Stempniak, and Jamal Mayers. The Blues have former Leafs like Colaiacovo and Steen, and Brad Boyes was drafted by the Leafs.
Another good reason… we here at GT also love bacon and think that Hollweg’s a dick.…

Of course I am familiar with Bacon Yadda. I helped construct some of the lyrics.
Carlo Cola however suffers unfortunately from ’splodey bones syndrome.
I am truly flattered you are asking everyone to make a case.

It was mostly for the rest of GT’s benefit. Also, because I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to

and
2) call Hollweg a dick.

I didn’t coin it. Someone on PPP did. Domi did I think? But yes, that’s what we called Carlo Cola.

Towel Man
I plan on making a serious case when i find some more time, not that it isn’t valuable enough for another prospective Blues fan, I just get to go into work tonight at 10:30.
The Towel Man did originate in St. Louis however.
And that song is classy, I enjoyed it thoroughly

I hope you're right...
…of course, being the prospects guy here, I now have even more of a vested interest in seeing the ’Hawks do well, since they have Ponich.
I always liked Spokane, too; made a road trip there once, but got so polluted drunk I don’t remember squat about it other than the fact that Troy Mick scored a goal for Portland…
Keep in touch around here; it’s always nice to have a pair of eyes in the stands when prospects (Shattock, Ponich, Schultz) are playing.

6th in the west, 1st in your heart.
First of all let me start by thanking you for taking the time to consider joining the blues family, our organ-i-zation is on the way up and we hope to see plenty of exciting new faces next season. We’re a hard working bunch: On the ice, around the interwebs, in the bars. There are a wide variety of reasons for becoming a fan of the blues which I will touch on today as well as the ones presented by my colleagues on these boards.
The blues are a franchise with history, unlike some of these Bettman bastard child franchises that got tossed around on the map all willy nilly to increase TV revenue the blues have been rooted in St.Louis for 40 years. The link posted today on our main page gives a nice overall history of where weve been. We have had strong runs in the past but the chalice of lord stanley has continued to elude us, but our time is quickly approaching. We are on track with our incredibly strong stable of young talent that will bring a bright future to the franchise that I hope you will be a part of.
Currently we are rated by talent scouts as the deepest organ-i-zation(im both contractually and comedically obligated to spell it like that) as far as prospects go. We have plenty of fresh faced rookies and up and coming prospects willing to work hard to win a place on the roster and a spot in your heart. We have been able to do this because of strong leadership by the front office that has put YOUR saint louis blues on the track towards contendership. While various other clubs are mired in terrible contracts, poor play, salary cap hell, and just downright apathy we have been able to pave a bright future under the guidance of Davidson and Jarmo The Blessed. While they are still young as far as ownership regimes go they have shown they are more than capable of making rational decisions that dont make you want to throw a controller and start drinking by 3. The blues lost in the first round of the playoffs last year but instead of complaining and wailing by true fans it was a time of rejoicing thanks to the bright future ahead.
Last year we were considered all but written off by the so called “Experts” who get “paid to do this sort of thing” by the middle of the year. Thanks to our hard working never call it quits attitude and game by game coaching philosophy we were able to prove the assorted fuckheads wrong. We have the entire package if your looking to pick a favorite player out of our hard working bunch. We’ve got the scorer , the crazy goalie , the kid , the good looking foreign badboy who will probably never call you back after the first date but you will love him for it , the czech guy who will fart in your helmet when your not looking and thats just the tip of the iceburg. The lovable cast of characters is growing daily, and really who else are you going to cheer for?
If your looking for a western team theres really only one choice. You don’t want to have your emotions played with by some scrub team and the contenders all carry baggage. I will break down how the rest of the west pans out.
Redwings: I will admit, when I watch bull fights I cheer for the bull. When i watch cops I always hope this is the episode the dude gets away. But only douchebags like the fucking redwings. Its like cheering for the flaming hoop evels gonna jump through.
San Jose: At the top already, cheering for them is a bandwagon move and you seem like a classy lady.
Vancouver: nuff said
Chicago: After this season they are jenna jameson fucked.
Calgary: We got Al MacInnus from them and they were the victims of the monday night miracle. Can’t say too many bad things about em. You’ve already got a canadian team though.
Anaheim: On their way out.
Columbus: They are a good up and coming organ-i-zation, seem to be headed in the right direction, and I dont have too many reasons not to cheer for them. oh wait .
The blues still have a few years to go before they are serious contenders but we are a fun exciting hockey team who work hard every night and are going places. There is still room on this bandwagon for a few more people but after next season room might be at a premium. Get in on the blues action before TJ Oshie gets elected to public office. There are some flashier big market teams out there who can buy you lots of high priced free agents for low cap prices and the blues were only sixth in the standings but I hope you will join us so we can be first in your heart.

VERY NICE POST!
i think you just made the Blues my West Conference team. I shouldn’t be surprised – i had McDonald, Backes, Berglund, Colaiacovo and Boyes on at least one of my fantasy teams last year at one point or another. congrats Icion – you may not have gotten wrap around curl (yet) but you may well have gotten me! i will at the very least pay closer attention to the Blues this year!
Jesus didn’t need a brother to be great. Neither does Luke Schenn.

I can’t tell you how awesomely, disgustingly hilarious that screen name of yours is.

Same Here
David Backes is money in the bank for fantasy. I had the same players (ironically) I found if you have a bunch of players on the same team, mostly the same lines, every point is x3 or however many assists you get along with a +5 if you have everyone on the ice, huge. But anyway, truly a monumental post, I think anything beyond this is put to shame, I was at that game vs. Columbus, just thinking about that Oshie-Nash hit gives me goosebumps.

I keep looking back at my post thinking I missed something I wanted to cover then I realized I never talking about our play style. I banged through the first half with gusto but started running out of steam and my mind was wandering so I figured I needed to wrap it up. I should have talked about our love of grinders, checkers, and fighters in my mini novel of a post.
Happy you all liked the post though, I tried starting it off all formal and business like and then I realized I had to get some laughs instead. Glad your on board T1H0, always nice to have more people cheer for the blues. I hope I was able to win your heart to our cause Curly, the blues have lots of love to give and life to live. If you stick around you will notice there’s a sense of optimism among the true blue fans about where we are heading, we have no anchor around our necks that require us to win now. Were a young team that will just keep getting better and better.
If you really need a last bit of convincing that we are worth investing your emotions in look at the very end of game 4 vrs Vancouver. We hadn’t made the playoffs in 5(?) years, had gotten swept in 4 games of the first round and yet just based off what I saw on the crappy pirate video feed, not a single fucking person left the Kiel(the real name of our arena) for atleast 5 minutes after it was over and were still chanting lets go blues when the feed died. That’s how you know your team is fucking awesome.
There’s my case for everyone reading this why you should make the St.Louis Blues your own.
Good luck with this one, GT’ers. We love our wrap like the sainted Princess she is, and we don’t give up our princesses easily-
To the Death!!!
I hope you’re up on your iocaine poison immunity.
