who lives in or close to KC

I am just wondering I live in Leawood, KS and play in two adult leagues at pepsi ice, and line creek community center, just want to know who else on this board lives in or around and plays in some of these leagues.

I play for a team called the Avalanche unfortunatly, and a team called the empty kegs.

also who is going to the preseason game at sprint?
I know i will be going

If I'm not mistaken . . .

fellow SLGT commenter DJ is trying to get a group going for the KC game, but he hails from the StL area.

Anyway, I’m nowhere close to KC and can’t go to the preseason game. I also never get the time to play hockey anymore. I’m outta here!

I just noticed . . .

if you put hyphens (-) at the beginning and end of whatever you’re commenting, it’ll strike through what you wrote.

I learn something every day. And usually it’s something that bugs the shit out of me.

interesting... because I was offended at first.

….not really. But seriously….

"Brad Winchester playing on a line with Perron and Berglund is like the fat kid who you invite to play one day because you didn't have enough skaters, yet you don't have the heart to tell them to leave the next few times you play. Damn you Andy Murray." -Author Unknown

I KNEW it'd take more than that to offend you.

But yeah. Totally unintentional.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

Eh, I am going to the game

…and homey don’t skate (right now at least)

Then you should move up

B league has a good pace. A is a few steps faster too. Play up to your level if you think you can. It definitely will pay off in the end. When did you join that team?

I live in KC right across the state line from Leawood. I don’t play (can’t ice skate very well) but I’ve always wanted to play roller hockey sometime.

I will defiantly go to the Islanders game. Unless I am sick on my death bed like I was last year when the Blues came to town.

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
