Lil Help. Blue Flames Hockey Team Out Of Winterland
Some of us were talking hockey from the old neighborhood and the Blue Flames hockey team came up. I've searched the Interwebz and there's nothing about them I can find. They played out of Winterland Rink in Bridgeton and were a good team, not sure if they were minor league, juniors or what. I'm going to say there were there when the Blues came about, late 60s early 70s maybe. Some of the players were Billy Voss, long haired forward who could flat out fly. Billy may have been a rink guard at Winterland. Dan Girillo or Jirillo?, big Dman who loved to hip check the puck watchers. Dave Bates.
The Rainbow Rockets were the kids traveling team and I think the Blue Flames were juniors maybe. Anybody know the early junior team history for STL? I played juniors in 1975-1977 but don't recall the early years very well. I remember the Comets, Florissant Leafs, Blazers and that's about it.
Anybody remember the Blue Flames? Any websites to look up some names? Hep a poor old hockey player out please.

I heard of this team in the locker room the other day but I didn't pay attention as I didn't understand.
I’ll keep my ears perked up and ask some questions this week.
