Heatley Deal Finally Done.

Dany Heatley and a 5th round pick to San Jose for Jonathan Cheechoo, Milan Michalek and a 2nd round pick.

Two points:
1. We're glad the "Heatley To Blues" rumors never panned out. Not the right guy, not the right time for this team.
2. We feel for John Buccigross, who took a ton of heat for reporting that a three-way Heatley trade was a done deal earlier this week. Bucci is a good hockey guy, but anytime you report a rumor like that you're asking for it.

I think that he’s going to get a lot more playing time. Honestly, though, does he want a first round playoff exit from as many clubs as possible? Because he seems to be well on track for that.

The Sharks are, officially now, on the clock.

This move signals a certain “now or ~~never~~ in another 10 years” mentality. This team looks really dangerous, but in a couple years is gonna look very “best years behind them.”
