Blues On Radio Tonight? (I Think So) [Game Night Thread!]
Hockey Prof here:
I know the Blues web site says no TV/Radio tonight, but the Wild website says:
Audio from tonight's game will be streamed live via WCCO on CBS radio
For what it's worth....
ADDING:
Since none of the higher ups seem to be around (drinking?) I'm promoting this to a game thread.
Really. I've nothing better to do.

You have no idea how excited I am to read those three words!!! GO BLUES!!!
Phew... Sykora isn't playing...we dodged a bullet....
…I mean, he could have tripped, fallen over and hurt one of our boys.
What about Sydor

Anyone see the lineup for tonight?
No Oshie, Walt, or Jackman tonight – but Karyia, Armstrong, and Sydor are.
Sounds like we have 4 or 5 of our Top 6 forwards playing...
…depending on what you consider Walt these days.
according to someone on Blues Talk (though not sure where they got it...)
Forwards
Paul Kariya-Patrik Berglund-Brad Boyes
Andy McDonald-David Backes-David Perron
Chris Porter-Derek Armstrong-Aaron Palushaj
Ryan Reaves-Yan Stastny-Cam Janssen
Defense
Erik Johnson-Steve Wagner
Darryl Sydor-Alex Pietrangelo
Brendan Bell-Mike Weaver

I love the Boxscore on the Wild website right now...
Scoring Summary
1st Period
04:25 STL Unknown Wrist Shot – Assists: B. Bell & B. Boyes
04:55 STL Chris Porter Wrist Shot – Assists: D. Armstrong & A. Palushaj
Kariya is really under the radar I guess.
Well...
The Yahoo boxscore currently says that it’s Kariya’s 17th of the preseason:
1ST PRD: STL – PAUL KARIYA 17 (UNASSISTED) 04:26
17 before 1st Intermission of the 1st preseason game?
He’s REALLY playing for that contract next year, huh?
I think...
I read somewhere that the surgeons added hip-mounted puck launchers, allowing him to blast a barrage of 5 pucks from each hip.

Maybe it's their line-up or maybe it's the radio...
but I’m not really getting any sense of that ‘new, wide-open Minnesota style,’ are you guys?
Their first two lines aren't dressed tonight
It’s hard to tell anything about them without Koivu or Havlat playing.

btw, since you are here… do you think Sheppard will finally “progress” this year, or will he be a bust?
by Rich of GASL on Sep 15, 2009 9:21 PM CDT up reply actions
Umm
In my opinion, there’s a better chance of Sheppard progressing than Irmen, Pouliot, Kalus or Gillies. Sheppard will have much more freedom this season, which should allow him to succeed in the offensive zone. He spent so much time worrying about finding himself in Lemaire’s doghouse for not playing enough positional defense that he never got into the flow of the game.
He had a much better second half of the season last year and it should be something upon which he can build.

Dude, a game day thread!
You have no idea how glad I am to come home from the Town Hall we had here to see this, and to hear us playing hockey. This has been a good, good day.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?

Oh, this was the Thrashers Town Hall.
Which, shockingly enough was free of throwing stuff at Don Waddell. It was shockingly… dare I say it… positive.
He pretty much said that he’s got Kovy locked up, it’s just a matter of time to determine salary.

Lucky duck. I have to wait another full week before I can see live hockey. I would love to be up there. I actually kind of enjoy preseason hockey. It’s just fun to watch the young kids interact with the older guys, and judge how they really do in competition. That’s so hard to do in camp.

OOch, yes.
I just don’t understand the thinking behind being abject homers. If your team stinks up the ice, say so. It’s ok. It’ll happen once in a while, and it’s all right to admit that your team’s having a bad night… or in the Avs’ case, a bad season.
