Three minutes before he gets injured for another sixty games.

I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.

You know, Kovy could go sign to play in Guam and I wouldn't care.

All the drama and uncertainty is making the Thrashers play like total shit, Kovalchuk’s playing horribly and then pitching hissy fits… yeah, go check him out, scouts. See if YOU like what you see, and then if you do – take his ass.

I never thought I’d say this, but I respect Crosby more. Sid (and Malkin) realized that to build a contender you had to have cap space to re-sign the strong players, so they took a hometeam discount. Kovalchuk’s agent is still gunning for the max, which would cripple the team as far as re-signings go. If Kovy really wants to win, he’d tell his agent to back the hell off.

He’s asking for more money than Ovie to play a worse game. I don’t blame Waddell for not caving. Hell, for once, good for him.

I don't get the high dollar demands either

If I was happy in a town and it looked like we had something going I would do like Sid and take a cut to sign other players. The Cup is the goal right? Not how much money you have when you retire.

Some days its just not worth chewing through the restraints

A pretty big part of this problem is Jay Grossman...

… and the fact that Kovy doesn’t seem to have enough balls to stand up and say “Screw your payday, I want to stay here. I’ve just built a huge new house and my wife’s expecting our third kid. Make this happen.”

For all of the hemming and hawing of “I want to stay in Atlanta, I love this team, blah blah” that he’s been doing, it’s costing the team points. As the captain, that’s bullshit and selfish. If he didn’t want to stay, he could have said “peace out” a long time ago, gotten the Thrashers a decent return, and then the team could have moved on with their lives. Now they have this cloud over their heads of uncertainty and are playing like shit. Toss in the fact that he’s acting like a prima donna puss (he pitched a fit at the end of the game apparently, throwing his stick when Little couldn’t convert), and it’s hurting even more. He has no business being bitchy when he missed wide open nets THREE TIMES last night. It’s like he was channeling Boyes, but actually worse.

At the start of December, they were firmly in a playoff spot, and then all of the rumors started coming out about the negotiation issues. Add that to the fact that the trainers had Bogosian out playing hurt, and the whole 2nd line going retarded, and that’s just a recipe for disaster.

But you’re right. Waddell’s going to get the blame for not keeping Kovy here. But if he were to give him the full salary, he’d be getting the blame in a few years when Little, Bogosian, and Kane have to leave because we can’t afford what they’re worth – why? Because the owners are paying someone ELSE three million dollars a year too much.

Kovalchuk has to realize on some level that we’re the closest thing to a contender that can pay him almost what he wants and give him stability. I’m sure his agent does too, but he’s a moneyhungry douche who is not only screwing around Kovy, he’s ruining the team by proxy.

That video, while fucked up, is awesome.

Since Peoria already has two goalie coaches

can we have Cujo here in STL (Mase and Conks already have the giving up rebounds part down. . .)
