"Teemu Selane is going to be 2-to-6 after jaw surgery."

I read that as ‘Teemu Salanne is going to be 12-to-6 after jaw surgery’ which made me think ‘Who the hell is his doctor and what injurious activity can I do to get there?’

I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.

Bunch'a whiners in the "Star-Tribune" story comment section...

Perhaps what Oshie did to Ebbett wasn;t the cleanest play he could have made, but these people act like Oshie has a history of being a cement-head.

At least one person in the comments stuck up for Iron Rangers…

I looked but haven't seen a video of this

I want to see the slow-mo replay. I think he may be guilty of a slew foot but I don’t think it was intentional. Not that that makes a difference.
Who knows what will happen with the head office idiots though.

Oh, and where is this "speculation: about Toivonen coming from, anyway?

Sounds more like wishful thinking on Edmonton’s part than anything else.

What’s in it for the Blues to loan Toivonen out because Edmonton’s short on goalie prospects for their AHL affiliate?

If Edmonton’s willing to send a draft pick to the Blues as a “thank you” for letting them borrow Ears for the rest of the season, then fine. But if they think that the Blues — or anyone else — is just going to “loan” them a goalie gratis for the rest of the season, then I want some of whatever they’re smoking up there…

One more comment...

Re: Mike Weaver.

I’m liking this guy more and more every time I see, or hear, him play.

That is all.

One of the Blues best players this year...

Up there near Steen and McClement, and running ahead of Polak and Colaiacovo.

That long time Blues fan

was a personal friend of mine. (not super close, but still knew him well.)

Ron and I were in fantasy hockey league a few years ago. BTW, I barely knew his real name. WE called him “Horse.”
Not sure why, but when I called him Ron, he said, oh no, call me “Horse.”

Before I had season tix, he would often call me (or email) and say, free ticket if you give me a ride. I would almost ALWAYS take him up on the offer. His tix at drink scotch were 1st row upper level behind the goal. That article was correct, he wasn’t very talkitive during the game. (Much like myself, except to yell at the refs or towel boy).

What the article didn’t say: He was buried wearing his Blues jersey and holding Thursday nights ticket. (He was buried Thursday as well).

Just thought you may appreciate more info on the full time Blues fan mentioned, thanks.

Did someone sew that?

If so, that’s about as dedicated as the Milhouse tattoo that was on the 20th Anny special Sunday night. Which, I might ad, I thought was pretty sweet.

I know televised hockey music is some kind of sacrilege to change . . .

but Neil Peart could’ve drummed whatever the fuck he wanted on the NHL on TSN theme and it would’ve turned up aces. Best damn rock drummer of all time, he is.

Keystone Lake Zamboni falls through thin ice

A Zamboni took a dip in North America's largest groomed skating pond at Keystone Resort tonight.
A driver was grooming the lake at about 6:15 p.m., when the ice cracked and the 7,000-pound machine began to sink at about 6:15 p.m. As a precaution, skaters were cleared from another area of the 5-acre pond, resort spokesman Ryan Whaley said. The driver was not injured.
There was no word immediately on how soon the rink might re-open, but staff will examine the ice and remove the Zamboni Wednesday, Whaley said.
"They'll take it out and we'll see how it is," Whaley said of the machine and the safety of the ice around the crater.
With a lake that large, other areas could reopen immediately, he said.

Once it dries out, the machine is likely salvageable, he said.
Kenneth Waesche snapped a photo of the sunken ice machine when he stopped by Lakeside Village for a pickup game of hockey. His wife planned to do some skating.
Waesche said that the "thin ice" sign in the foreground of the photo was some distance away from where the Zamboni went in.
The lake is typically open from Dec. 18 to March. 28 depending on the weather, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
