Sunday Links: Home sweet home edition
Finally, I can start looking at home games on the schedule without wincing at the prospect of another embarrassing loss. The Blues are forechecking (or perhaps, FOURchecking) their way to more wins and looking good while they do it.
Now that I've filled my terrible pun quota, let's get to the links.
Blues News:
- Blues win!
- Not Lee Stempniak (Steen and Carlo) are shining for the Blues with the man advantage.
- Blueshirt Banter is feeling the pain of paltry scoring after the 4-1 game.
NHL News:
- Now we can argue about who didn't make this year's All-Star Game, even though there is no "this year's All-Star Game." Either way, Vote For Rory.
- ESPN's Pierre LeBrun looks at Nashville's goaltending conundrum (Rinne and Ellis are UFAs in the off-season), Sheldon Souray waiving his NTC (No, Blues. No.), and other stuff that's worth reading.
- Among the winning goaltenders last night, you'll find Rick DiPietro, for the first time since 2008.
- An opinion piece from the Oilers "Copper 'N Blue." Is it better to have "A" superstar or a few "good" players?
- Scores.
- Sunday's games.
Other Stuff:
- If I were Conan O'Brien, I'd be pissed off, too.
- Tetris. In this version, the piece doesn't move. You do the rotating
Video:
Since getting Netflix over the summer, my instant queue has been put to use by catching up on 5 seasons of The Office. You can skip this one if it's not your thing.
And considering the Blues just put some good ol' physicality on the Rangers, let's throw in a video with some Blues/Rangers fisticuffs.
Prospects Sunday is on its way. Averagejoe comes back to link you through the work week.
Both are causes for celebration.

They’re sitting over there bitching about how 7th place and making the playoffs isn’t good and how the Rangers need to become sellers near the trade deadline.
Wow. Must be a New York state of mind.

From the standings standpoint, Hawks.
From practicality standpoint, the meteor.

Hey I will say that the Blackhawks can be a really fun team to watch.
I’d go even further to say that I enjoy watching their games second only to the Blues…although that may be because, playing in the same division an dall, I know who most, if not all, of their players are.
Still, let’s not get too carried away Blackhawks. You haven’t been good for quite some time, so feel free to come back to the pack a bit…preferably in games against the Blues.
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
Anyone else thrilled how SB Nation felt it appropriate to implode last night?
Anyway, yeah, the complaining’s just part of being a Rags fan. You’re always on yourself. But, to be fair, the standings are sooo close in the East that a few more bad games, and ATL, PHI, or whoever can be in their spot in a heartbeat.

ok in new york
what are the isle fans like?
new york seems really strange, islanders bandwagoners? from the 70’s? i’d think their fans are all loyal second generation bandwagoners. having converted parents and being true fans with sticking with the isles… the rangers though… what keenan got them fans? even that was too long ago to keep them. who do they decide? i guess if they love the drama of the draft, they islanders, if they love the drama of playoff exits they rangers?

In other news . . .
there was a goal controversy that involved Steve Ott and the Red Wings.
On one hand, Steve Ott is a douche. On the other hand, the Red Wings are assfucks. On a mutant third hand, fuck the whole lot of them.

I don't know if I should still feel pissed that we aren't thought of enough by other teams
that we get the backup. Although I do love that they are making it a little easier on us to get points. We played great and probably still would have won if Lundquist was in goal I think it would have been a 2-1 game.
No one knows why, but second only to eating the brains of the living, the dead love affordable pre-fab furniture.
Weird idea...
Is there any way SBN could change the ‘Post’ button to an actual picture of a goal post? Only for the hockey sites, of course.
Although that would make me want to put ‘Clank!’ at the end of every one of my messages.
