Saturday Links: "Should I get a Backes or a Johnson USA Jersey?" Edition

I told myself I'd save a chunk of my Xmas and rainy day money to look at getting a Team USA jersey of one of the Blues players. My biggest decision now is who I put on the back: Backes or Johnson?

Blues News:

As Gallagher points out below, the Blues put Backes and Johnson on the USA roster. I imagine TJ Oshie is a very likely injury replacement if someone gets hurt.
Goaltending sucks lately, Janssen is angry at Canucks coach Alain Vigneault, and things are looking good for our prospects in the WJHC. Read all about it.

Russia's coach may tinker with his roster even though it's already announced. The NHL and NHLPA are writing a letter to the IIHF. Apparently, the technology to actually write a letter is still in use.

pickin my new 3rd jersey.. i had it narrowed down to EJ and Backes to.. i went with EJ and with as shitty as he is playing lately I almost regret it already

I got ill when I saw that bounce go right to Roy.

Actually, I got ill when the Thrashers blew a 3-0 lead to a team that they hadn’t lost against since January of 2008. Hedberg is the king of weird bounces, too. I know he was thinking it was going to rim around the boards, and that’s why he went out behind the goal – I’m pretty sure if he were in goal he wouldn’t’ve been prepared to stop something that weird. It would have helped, though, if our 2 defenders weren’t out of position.

So glad that there was finally a fight in the WC. It’s very fitting that it happened between these two teams… glad to see that the home team won one, too.

Johnson will be on Team USA for a while..

and I already have a Blues Backes jersey, so Im covered. IMO Backes will not get much playing time, but there is also another Johnson on the US team. I would go with Backes.
