Thursday links: Barreling through the week like Cam Janssen through Carey Price edition
Cam Janssen is not a skill player, but he makes the Blues better. I wish I could watch that over, and over again. Oh wait, I can. Awesome.
Blues news
- Mr. Happy Meal Andy McDonald nets the game winner as the Blues top the Canadiens 4-3. Like I said yesterday, David Perron did work. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
- The Blues stay in Canadia tonight to take on Ottawa. I hope Ottawa wears its SNES jerseys. If you need ammo to make fun of the team named after a government, but whose logo is that of a Roman warrior, head over to PPP. [CBS Sports]
- Paul Kariya, who knows a little something about head injuries, didn't like the Patrice Cormier hit from earlier in the week. [St. Louis Post-Dispatch]
- Did you know, that by sticking around at your job for a long time, you become a role model? Keith Tkachuk is helping David Backes and Erik Johnson — but not Roman Polak, apparently — prepare for the Olympic games. [Canadian Press]
Hockey news
- Wednesday's results. [Yahoo! Sports]
- Lots of games on Thursday. [Yahoo! Sports]
- Jeremy Roenick makes a bold statement: The Blackhawks goaltending isn't very good. [ESPN]
- If you (NatetheGreat.) liked Neal Peart's HNIC theme, it's now on iTunes. [TSN]
- Eric Staal, who in his picture on this page looks like he will be going to the Special Olympics, is the new Hurricanes Captain. Also, Manny Legace (among others) is on the trading block as the 'Canes are calling it a season. [TSN]
- Andy Sutton will have two games to think about how awesome it was to shove Pascal Dupuis' face into the boards. [TSN]
- The Penguins are dealing with a lot of goalie issues. Reminds me of the 1998-99 Blues who suited up such luminaries as Jim Carey, Rich Parent, and Brent Johnson .... who is on this year's Penguins. Or the 2002-03 Blues that had Tom Barrasso, Reinhard Divis, Cody Rudkowsky, and, you guessed it, Brent Johnson. [Pensburgh]
- The Flames need some offense. So why does the blog saying they should go after Paul Kariya or Keith Tkachuk. [Matchsticks and Gasoline]
Other links
- It's mixtape time again. DJ Cullo brings the goods. [DJ Cullo]
- Being a cop is hard. [ManoFest]
- This picture is just ... wow. Words can't describe it. [Zoee]
- It's amazing how stupid people in charge are. [Cracked]

I so much want to watch Cam running over Carey Price
Is there anywhere that I can watch it that isn’t YouTube or blogspot (or, honestly, most other public blogging sites)?
nhl.com has the game recap with the footage.
Let's go Blues!!!

Yeah
I’ve been trying that for about 2 hours and the site isn’t loading because this internet is sooooo slooooow (Dear China, if you’re reading, this is not me complaining about your beautiful country)
Why should Big Wallet help Pola’k prepare for the Olympics?
Backes and Johnson will be playing for Tkachuk’s country. Pola’k won’t.
I dig me some Roman Pola’k, but here in a couple of weeks, he’s the enemy for a while.
Like The Coach said, it’s the name on the front of the sweater that’s important, not the name on the back.

I say if the Flames are interested in Kariya
That we should explore that option. I’d be curious to see what they would be wiling to give up for him. I wouldn’t mind seeing Ignila or Cammelari as a Blues. I know it wouldn’t happen, but hey, might as well explore the option.

i think your a bit
behind on the times cammalleri plays for the canadiens, and hell would half to freeze over for us to get iginla

Last night's game notwithstanding...
…at this point, I’d be happy with a couple of mid-round draft picks, or a second and a half-decent prospect — a Mikael Backlund, say — in exchange for Kariya.
The guy I’d really like from the Flames, though, is Greg Nemisz. A power forward in the making, Nemisz was the 25th overall pick by Calgary in 2008, and I’d be willing to give up a good deal more than just Kariya to get him.

I said it last night and I'll say it again:
If I get a sizeable tax refund, I’m so getting a Janssen 3rd. That quote sealed it for me.
Reporter: There`s a "stamp out the Beatles movement" underway in Detroit. What are you going to do about it?
Paul McCartney: We`re going to start a campaign to stamp out Detroit.
That hit is just awesome
Price is just stupid.
Cam about did a headstand on him
