John Davidson on Ottawa radio

This morning, St. Louis Blues president was on Ottawa radio station Team 1200's TGOR program. Among other things, here are a few of his comments:

On the rebuild: Said he was happy with how it was progressing, but would be happier if it was going better.

On trades: Said that it's hard for him to make trades with his young players because he doesn't know what he has yet: Some of the youngsters may be playing over their heads, so he doesn't want to necessarily build around them, while some may not be at their peak yet, so he doesn't want to give up on them yet. He does realize that his team has assets, but doesn't think they're just one or two pieces away from an extended run yet, so is unlikely to be a big buyer or be looking for rentals at the trade deadline.

On drafting: Is happy with the way his regime has drafted, with thanks especially to chief scout (?) Jarmo Kekalainen. Thinks that his team has done well with their picks so far.

On the community: Said when he joined the team the Blues weren't actively followed, but is grateful for the presence of Blues alumni in the community who make team events more successful.
