Blues recall Tyson Strachan
The Blues have today recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan from the Peoria Rivermen. Carlo Colaiacovo has been placed on IR - retroactive to 21 January - with a lower body injury.
Tyson Strachan has played in 31 games for the Rivermen this season with 2 goals and 12 assists - Strachan also has 48 penalty minutes. He has played 6 games for the Blues this season - collecting 2 assists and 4 penalty minutes.
David Backes is skating again and both he and Colaiacovo will accompany the team on the upcoming road trip to Western Canada.
Tell me - is this Colaiacovo's first IR since coming to the Blues?

I think this is the first time ’Splodeybones has been on the IR with the Blues, Doc…
Glad to see Strachan get the call… but that leaves the Rivermen pretty short on defense. The Blues really need to start getting some of their cornucopia of d-prospects into the pro game and developing up there on the banks of the Illinois River.
I’m guessing that if Strachan has to be up for long, either Peluso will be called up fron Alaska and played on defense, or they’ll call up Ryan Turek again. T.J. Fast does not bring the same things to the table that Tyson Strachan does; Peluso and Turek play much more a Strachan-style game.
Ian Cole would have looked very nice on the Peoria blueline this year, methinks…

Thanks
I thought it might have been – he’s done well for being so-called “injury prone”.
I’d like to get another look at Peluso – and do we get Cole at Peoria next year?

David Backes isn't missing another game . . . .

Nice find Doc
you always seem to put these up before us and we’re sitting a little closer than you.

Probably has something to do with the time difference actually – being 5 or so hours ahead of you guys can help.
Also the fact that hockey sites are the first ones I check in the morning…I always have them open on the desktop…and they are the last things I turn off at night.
Obsessed? Me? Pfft.

We seem to think a lot alike, Doc...

Thank you
probably not the greatest timing in the world for me to be looking into a Paul Kariya article! I’ve only just started researching so I might pick another player…cos Paulie Walnuts probably won’t be here by the time I’ve finished it.

Gotta say... am I alone in hoping Stratchan stays up?
Really like Tysons game. Very solid D-Man, I’d certainly better then, say, Sydor imo
Breaking News: I'm currently in the process of writing "I will not say and/or type "that word" 1,000 times.
eh
hes a part. i dont think strachan is any kind of long-term answer. sure he’s better than sydor, but darryl is a play-every-fifth-game dman.
I was hoping Strachan played tonight
He is definately more cost effective and regular effective than Sydor. Not to mention we have dipped into the Junland time table. Get rid of Sydor and bring one of the kids up, we don’t have too much to lose, but all kinds of things to blame it on. Anyone know the status of Lemytegov?
I believe
His status is “Hi, I prefer to play in Russia than pay my dues in Peoria.” Aside from that the I think the Blues still own his rights for the next few years.
